Describe a typical weekend.

Isaac

What is a typical weekend at the University of Miami? I guarantee the typical weekend at the University of Miami is what most kids around the country dream of. Usually, for most students, their weekend starts on Thursday night. On Thursday night students go to Coconut Grove, also called "the Grove", to scamper around to all the awesome bars located in a very posh area. The school helps make this night much safer and cheaper by using school transportation to get students there and back. Then comes Friday night. Almost everyone goes out or does something on Friday nights. If you are in a fraternity you will most likely have a frat party or frat event. Other students find ways to go to South Beach, one of the most amazing locations in all of America. If this isn't enough, there is much more on Saturday. Tons of kids drive to the local beaches, whether it is South Beach or Key Biscayne, and enjoy a day in the warmth and sun. Other people go to the local pools or any of the other exciting attractions Miami has to offer. Saturday night serves as the night for students to do whatever they would like. Movies, bars, clubs, or just hanging out with friends at your house is what the majority of students do. Finally, my least favorite day is Sunday. Sunday is the day that most students spend in the library or locked away in their rooms attempting to finish all their work before their week starts. Overall, a weekend at the University of Miami, whether you live on campus or not, is truly an amazing and exciting experience.

Pre game thursday with friends, go to the Grove bar scene where anyone who is anyone is. Friday go to south beach to a club, or brickell to the bars, or to a house party and repeat saturday. Hit the beach during the day or go to the pool on campus. Play some intramural sports, do some grocery shopping, do a keg race or go to a sporting event. You can do anything.

Unlike a lot of people I don't usually go out to the Grove on Thursday nights because I don't have a fake ID. But the few times that I have I haven't even needed an ID to get in anywhere or get served. I have an off campus job so I usually work Friday nights but as soon as I get off there's usually a party going on somewhere in the University Village. Most of the parties in the apartments aren't ragers and are more just hanging out and drinking with friends. Saturday I work as well and usually I'll get some homework done. Depending on how much I have I'll either just hang out with my boyfriend or go to one of my fraternity's parties. Also pretty chill. I don't go to many traditionally greek frat parties but if you're into that thing there's usually at least one every weekend. Sundays are about recovery and relaxation.

The weekend starts on Monday here and ends on Sunday, if you know what I mean.
