University of Miami Top Questions

A high profile sports school. a private school with 12,000 undergrads. South of the city of Miami. Great research school. Founded in 1925. Known for partying, tanning, and now for academics as well.

UM is an "average" sized school, meaning it holds about 10,000 students. It's a quick drive to the city and to the beach. However, it's located in the suburbs and has it's own police force; so there are no worries about security. The landscaping at UM is gorgeous, especially on a really day, but the buildings are a bit outdated. Many of the teachers' focuses are on research, meaning there are a lot of research opportunities for students. Most of UM's students are in the Arts & Sciences College, especially within the Marine Biology, Biology, and Chemistry majors. The Engineering Dept. is very well known and provides a rigorous schedule. Also, the Frost Music School is highly regarded. However, a lot of students do party. It's Miami

UM is close to water but far from a beach, located in the heart of Coral Gables, a suburb of Miami, which hates UM with a fury previously unseen. We like to have fun here, we like to do well in school, and we like to hate any other school because they just don't know what it's like to go to a school simply known as The "U".
