It was like living at a resort but also learning s much.

A few things about the University of Miami, distinguished it from a number of other schools I looked at. Having nice weather year round makes campus seem more lively, and maintains a positive attitude amongst the student body. The size of the ungraduate student body was also ideal, in my eyes, as classes are small enough that you can truly interact with the teacher, becoming more intelluctually stimualted. At the same time, it is large enough that you always feel as though you are meeting new people.

What is unique about the University of Miami is the strong educational background of all its professors, and the overall cultural diversity of its entire population (both students and professors). I also believe that its campus is unique, as it underlines the beachy yet urban aspect of Miami, while being retreated in Coral Gables, which is a very pleasant and beautiful neighborhood. I enjoy all the research that is done by the professors, and their willingness to get you involved in it if you seem genuinely interested in their research topics.

The University of Miami is an outstanding university, excelling over others in academics, athletics, and social life.

I'm biased, but one of the best University college scenes in the world. Miami is so international and there are so many things to do. Everyone is good looking, the weather is awesome. It feels great to be a hurricane. You can throw up the []_[] anywhere and people know what it is. Best decision of my life to go here.

You can get more school for your money elsewhere. I regret to say I pay full tuition and room and board to go to this university and at the end of my time here I have found spending $50,000 to be a highly inflated price for the services I am "receiving". Go to an in-state university where you will pay a lot less to get the same quality education. Teachers here, for the most part, "teach" by reading verbatim each slide, after which they will hand you a multiple choice test for which you are supposed to memorize the text book you purchased. Do not pay $50,000 to be given multiple choice tests and be read to from power points!! Please, DO NOT DO IT!! To make matters worse, UM is spending all its money on lobbyists and the initiative to increase the school's rankings on US News because they want to be "the ivy league school of the south". Yet, shout out to Shalala, if you want UM to be an ivy league school, the professors need to teach like one; there need to be intimate, round table, discussion based classes!! Also, UM doesn't know where its' academic strengths are, so all of the majors here are fairly lackluster. I have switched into eight different majors, so believe me, I know this to be a fact. The football stadium is an hour away and the students are squeezed into one tiny section while the rest of the stadium remains sparse. The only positive here is that the school provides coach buses to the games and students do not have to pay for season tickets. However, this does not outweigh the lengthy travel to the stadium, the high prices of food and drinks when you're there, and the strict security. FORGET HAVING FUN ON CAMPUS, THEY ARE CONSTANTLY TRYING TO SHUT DOWN GREEK LIFE AND THE RATHSKELLER. Make one false move, get caught with a fake ID, throw a party one time, stay at a mixer past curfew one time and you will be prosecuted by UM and the consequences will be severe.

The University of Miami is very liberal and accepting of others. I've learned so much while I've been here.

yeah we party hard but at the end of the day Miami is one of the coolest, hard-working campuses you will find. Its funny to see that nerdy guy in the front of your diff eq class raging at Liv and that ditsy blonde discussing Keynesian economics. Basically, there is no other place I would rather spend the next four years than beautiful Miami. We live where you vacation.

Miami has great academic programs, and I felt like I had better opportunities here than anywhere else. They have a great reputation for job placement after graduation, and I felt very secure and safe thanks to that.

Miami's class sizes are very small. Our campus is gorgeous. Lined with palm trees, grass fields, and fountains, it's the perfect place to relax and study any time of year.

It encompasses research, flexibility, open-mindedness, progression, humanitarian principles and inter-disciplinary work. It inspires positive and responsible action in your carreer and community.

We have spirit and culture in a place that has so much history. It's in a location that has a strong focus on both academics and a social life. It's truly a different world.

The faculty are very warm and inviting within the school of music here at University of Miami. When I auditioned here, the faculty really took time to show an interest in me. Other schools seemed more like factories. At University of Miami, I felt like I could be an individual and work for he betterment of myself as a student and as a musician.

I fell in love with The University of Miami. The "U" is unique because there is something here for everyone. Whether is be academics, a social scene, happy, diverse people, athletics, etc. Miami has it. There has not been a single moment during my time here that I have less than absolutely loved the University of Miami. The "U" also has highly qualified professors and teachers' assistants that make classes fun, efficient, and enlightening.

THE UNIVERISTY OF MIAMI IS SO UNIQUE BECAUSE OF ITS ORGANIZATION WITH ALL THE STUDENTS AND THE DIVERSITY OF THE ACTUAL STUDENTS AND FAULTY. AS A TRANSFER STUDENT COMING FROM PALM BEACH COMMUNITY COLLEGE I HAVE FELT VERY WELCOMED AND PLEASED BY THE HELP AND DISCIPLINE THEY SHOW AT THE UNIVERSITY OF MIAMI. THERE IS NEVER A QUESTION THAT GOES UN ANSWERED .AT THE UNIVERSITY OF MIAMI EVERYONE WORKS TOGETHER TO MAKE EACH OF OUR COLLEGE EXPERIENCE AS SUCCESSFUL AS POSSIBLE. I AM VERY PLEASED AND HONORED TO BE GOING TO ONE OF THE HIGHEST RANKED SCHOOLS IN THE COUNTRY.

This time of year, it's all about location. Although this has been one of the coldest winters in memory throughout Florida, it still was at least in the 40s in Miami. Also, the proximity to an internationally recognized world-class city means there are opportunities at this university you won't find at other major universities throughout the state.

What is unique about my school are some of the professors. I have had a few problems during the semester and there are two professors in particular that have been genuinely concerned about my health and progress. Also, the fact that they provided us with free tutoring during the first two semesters out of the 4 that I am to complete in the accelerated nursing program is something I'd never experienced while I was at NSU or MDCC.

It's focused toward all aspects of teaching rather than just letting you pick one field.

Compared to other schools I considered, I'd say Miami hasa more diverse student body. The students here are also very well balanced. We know how to balance school work, extracurriculars, hanging out, and partying. We also have a great surrounding area. We have the beach close by and then the excitement of south beach and the greater miami area on the other side.

The mixture of academic excellence with fun. The university is filled with career focused, hard working individuals, but that doesn't stop any of them from going out and enjoying the beach, clubs, and other fun attractions Miami has to offer. Everyone is kind and accepting which creates an environment that is perfect for academic and social growth.

DO NOT GO TO THIS SCHOOL. I TRANSFERED OUT AFTER MY FRESHMAN YEAR BECAUSE I WAS ABSOLUTELY MISERABLE AND WAS LOOKING FOR A BETTER, MORE SERIOUS EDUCATION. THIS IS NOT A SCHOOL FOR PEOPLE WHO WANT TO LEARN. IF YOU EARNED THE 4.2 GPA (THE AVERAGE FOR A FRESHMAN ENTERING UM) YOU HAVE WORKED HARD. DO NOT WASTE ALL YOUR HARD WORK ON GOING TO THIS SCHOOL. NO MATTER HOW GOOD THE BROCHURES LOOK OR HOW MUCH YOU ENJOY YOU'RE INITIAL VISIT, THIS SCHOOL DOES NOT LIVE UP TO ITS OWN ADMISSIONS STANDARDS. PLEASE, TAKE MY ADVICE. GO TO A BETTER SCHOOL. CHECK OUT USC, UNC, VANDERBILT, NORTHWESTERN. YOU WILL PROBABLY GET IN, AND YOU WILL BE MUCH BETTER FOR IT. I FEEL MIAMI IS VERY GUILTY OF FALSE ADVERTISING. THIS SCHOOL IS NOT WHAT ANYONE TOLD ME IT WOULD BE. I WAS VERY IMPRESSED AT EVERY INFORMATION SESSION, EVERY VISIT. HOWEVER, GOING TO UMIAMI WAS A HUGE MISTAKE AND I WISH I COULD TAKE IT BACK.

It's basically always summer in Miami but when it rains it rains!! My school is like a tropical paradise in the middle of metropolitan Florida!

The University of Miami is not only beautiful to the naked eye, but the people are beautiful inside and out. I have visited friends at many other schools (ie. Penn Stata, University of Maryland, Northeastern, Rutgers) and none of them contain the amount of energy and happiness that thrives on my campus.

the difference between the University of Miami and other universities is the drive of exellence in the mind of the student body. Its unique point is the long history of researching in the area of Medicine, Sports, Law, Bussiness, Art and Political Science. The interaction of professors and students in the aim of innovation.

The University of Miami has a very good marine science undergraduate program. I am a marine science major and have had a lot of exposure to different avenues of marine science research here. I believe this is due to the variety of marine science professors and researchers on the Coral Gables campus and the Rosenstiel Marine and Atmospheric Science campus. The university's proximity to the ocean and the Florida Keys affords ample opportunity to conduct marine research or just enjoy the marine world.

The faculty and administration are amazing. The help is exceptional and the campus and environment are spendid.

Miami has warm weather year-round and is really close to great beaches. The campus itself is also beautiful and is well maintained.

It is warm! The beach is close by and extremely relaxing and nice. It is such a diverse campus. It isn't quite the city campus either. Not much of a college town but still areas that college kids go to that we love.

We go to school where you go on vacation. Hard working people who know how to relax and have a good time.

For the almost 40,000 per year I am paying, I want to register for class without having to wait for an hour. Also, open up more sections so that people stop coming to Advising for overrides!

UM is an amazing school. It's given me so much, and I love it with all my heart. I've met so many wonderful people here and some awesome professors who truly care about me as a student and an individual. One of my professors actually called her doctor for me during class so I could get a referral for a surgery I eventually needed. If you're looking for a well rounded college experience filled with academic integrity, a great social life, and great people along the way, come to UM. It's great to be a Miami Hurricane!
