Where is the best place to get work done on campus?

Anelia

I have found the best place to get work done is at a little section near the physics building to be very peaceful. Not many students hang out around there so it is quite. There are a handful of tables for you to work at surrounded by water fountains and trees making it the perfect spot to work at.

Library. Outside by the lake. Your room.

The library is a very popular spot. The first floor has many computers, and is more of a sitting area, it is not silent, usually to work and socialize a little bit. But as you go up, all of the floors are silent and you can find little nooks to do work without getting interrupted. Since it is warm year round, there are many tables set up outside as well. During finals week the school provides lit tents and hammocks as the library can get rather crowded.

Most people would say that the library is the best place to get work done, but Club Richter isn't always the best place to focus. The higher levels you go in the library the quieter it is, but personally I like to study in the music library where it is almost always nearly empty and always quiet. Other than that, it's always nice to lay out by the lake and get some reading done.

Definitely Richter, but NOT during finals time. The "Stacks", the actual library part of Richter, is definitely the quietest public place on campus, where you can literally hear a pin drop. However, it is not the place to be for finals as everyone is vying for a spot and they have to set up tents outside to accommodate everyone. The Law library and the music library are good places to study during finals as they are smaller and because so many people favor Richter. If you don't mind some noise though, there are tables all around campus that are easy studying spots.

It all depends on how you learn in my opinion. For me, i am not easily distracted so working in my room on campus is where i usually spend my time working / studying by myself. However if you have a group project or presentation the usual place to meet up is the Richter Library on campus next to Starbucks. If you like a semi-quiet atmosphere or a completely quiet one, the library has different sections designated for such types of study environments.

The library is always a good place to get work done. There are study rooms and lots of couches and chairs to do group projects on the first floor. The stacks or the law school library are good for when you want quiet. But my favorite place to get work done is outside. During finals the school sets up hammocks in the palm trees to make studying more relaxing. We have a lake in the middle of campus and that's where I go when I need to get reading done during the semester. The University Center is good for group project meetings.
