Despite the location and wealth of the area, I would say that a student whose only aim is to party it up for four years on their parents' dime should not attend this school. Yes, there is a strong night life here but if partying is your only aim, there is so much in the world of academics, sports, extra-curriculars, service, etc. that you will completely miss out on. If you intend to spend the next 4 years in a drunken stupor, go to a public state school and do it for cheap instead of spending a small fortune.

If you like the seasons, or snow, Miami is not the place for you (though this weather sure isn't difficult to get used to). Also for those who don't like to be surrounded with different cultures and languages, this is not that place for you. If you like to blend in and be like everyone else Miami just wont fit your preferences. Finally, if you're not respectful of everyone, for any reason whatsoever, I would recommend another school.

I think if someones going to go to school and not try and just be lazy and sit around doing nothing then they shouldn't be there in the first place becasue unless you somehow get a very generous lucky break and somehow get rich, education is whats needed for not only that students future but for the future of mankind

A person that closed minded and not willing to accept or adjust to change.

This school has a very weak art program, so if that is your major, this is probably not the best school for you. Also, class sizes are much smaller, so if you prefr large lecture halls, there really aren't much here.

The kind of person that should not attend this school is one who thinks that they will be able to slackoff and be in South Beach everynight. Sure the students here know how to have fun and will go out, but if someone is going to come here just for the nightlife, they will not last.

Don't come if you can't take the heat or the rain. If you are concerned about falling to social pressures it also may be unwise to attend. If you don't plan to have any school spirit, don't come. If you aren't ready to study more than you ever have before and put it some very long hours, this is not the place for you.

Very self-conscious people. You will get torn apart in Miami.

Miami is the type of school where there's something for everyone and all students can find their place. I would advise against going to Miami only if you're not a fan of warm weather.

People who should not attend this school are people who do not like to work. There is a lot of "campus life" and it is easy to get distracted. A perspective student should be able to keep their focus on their academics while balancing their social life.

A closed minded person who doesn't take school seroiusly. You will not fully take advantage of the diversity or the intensity of the course work, thus you won't last that long! lol

conservatively religious, does not enjoy hot weather.

Someone who does not like to party, someone who is ultra religious, or someone who is completely immersed in their field of study. We are a small school still, and while we have made amazing gains in terms of research facilities, we still don't quite match up with the big state schools. Most people who don't drink and don't party find themselves a bit lonely here.

Conservative and non open minded people. People who do not like diversity.

This is a very racially diverse and somewhat large campus which may be awkward to some people. Not for someone who thinks they can skimp by with easy classes, somewhat demanding classes.

People who are dedicate to what they do

The typical person that should not attend school is someone who is not goal oriented or willing to work hard in order to get somewhere. If that person does not have the confidence to get back up when something does not go their way there is a low chance they will succeed in this school.

Someone who is quiet, shy, and in need of nurturing will not like this school. It is a school where students are very diverse, but over all like to party.

People who dont like going out to bars and clubs. poeple who can'tregulate themselves when it comes to drugs

This school has a huge focus on academics and a person who was not disciplined enough to study and work hard would not do well.

A conservative from a rural part of the US with limited funds. Since most of the kids here come from upper middle class towns often in South Florida, New York and New Jersey, New Endland, Chicago, Houston, Denver most of the students drive expensive cars and shop at high end stores and are used to being around cities. Others may feel out of place or small in comparison to many of the students driving around in BMW's and Mercedes with daddy's credit card on hand.
