What's the most frustrating thing about your school?

Megan

how far away from home it is

Paola

The most frustrating thing about the University of Miami is the amount of peer-pressure there is. If you don't drink/smoke, expect people to try and convince you to try it every time you go out.

Jeanette

The most frustrating thing about the school is honestly probably the wifi. There is a lot of online homework, and most professors are only reachable by e-mail. The wifi is very spotty, especially in the dorms, and it's really, really frustrating.

Gabrielle

The most frustrating thing about my school is the supposed "diversity." The school claims to be very diverse, but is predominately white.

Imani

I guess the most frustrating thing about my school is that it is so expesnsive! Yes, I love the U and I'm getting a great education there, but I wish it wasn't so expensive. That way, we would have even more variety at the school if they gave out more financial aid.

Stasnie

The most frustrating thing would have to be the tuition and how expensive it is. A person from my background cannot afford it without help.

Alicia

The most frustrating thing about Miami is that it is hard to find students who are motivated in their studies like you are. When you start off freshman year the school pumps you up on free food and activites and gets you excited to sign up for hundreds of different clubs. What they don't mention, however, is that once classes start your course load will be too intenst to handle extra cirriculars. It is frustrating when you must be the only one studying on a friday night becuase you are the only one putting your grades before your fun.

Daniel

University of Miami is a very expensive school. When I first went there, I was awarded a substantial financial aid package. This financial aid package dropped in my second year, and as a result I had to transfer to another university for a semester. The most frustrating experience is overcoming the financial obstacles of the school.

Mashail

The most frustrating thing about the University of Miami is the dining options on campus/near off campus aren't very varied and the hours of operation aren't very user friendly.

Andres

The most frustrating about my school is that i am not able to get a federal work study job on campus. Ive been trying for the past semester and they are all either taken already or the employer doesn't answer.

Thomas

I wish it weren't so expensive

Living and attending school in South Florida, present the problem of temptation. It would be very tempting to spend all day on the beach or laying out in the sun. The faculty tends to frown upon such behaviors.

At times, there seem to be too great an emphasis on athletics, primarily football. I am not a huge sprots fan, and at times, it feels as though that is all football is the only thing going on. There resources spent on the footbal team, busing students to the football games and the sheer number of lunchtime pep rallies is pretty obnoxious. Although athletics promote school spirit and pride, it can get a bit frustrating when it seems to overtake other elements of student life.

Angelica

It's really hard to get around the city of Coral Gables and Miami without a car

Alexandra

Probably the fact that I wasn't accepted the first time around.I would have LOVED to start off here at University of Miami ! :) So I went somewhere else, to get here...and I am sooo blessed and lucky to be here. I love it. So frustrating? Eh, only the fact that I didn't get in the first time.

Loren

The most frustrating thing about my school I would say is the cost of tuition. Each credit class costs $1408.

Lecresha

Really tho only thing that is fustrating about the University of Miami is the walking distance from the residential colleges to your classes and the cost of stuff. Besides that it is a great school.

Amartha

The financial aid process at the University of Miami is absolutely horrid. Their office fails to show interest in the students and their lack of knowledge as to how the process is carried out. In addition to this, when the office is actually able to help (in whatever minute way) they send their students on a complete run around to the many different financial departments on campus. In the end, these departments would then send you directly back to the department you just left. It's frustrating and discouraging. Many students have been asked to simply leave school because finances.

Erick

Being in such a fantastic location and being too busy with classes and school to be able to take advantage of it! I've been here four months and haven't seen the ocean or beach yet. I'm not even tan because I spend so much time working. It's frustrating to not be able to take advantage of the area!!

David

I am a student worker, so balancing work, finances, school, family, and friends is tough sometimes. It really frustrates me when I realize I have a paper, two tests, and a car payment coming up and I've had to miss a few days of work due to a previous test. In addition, I need to strive for a high GPA in order to be competitive in the pre-Med program. Juggling sometimes frustrates me, but I just step back and take a deep breath and remember about being a doctor and how it will pay off.

Sarah

The University of Miami and the city of Miami can both be very expensive, especially if you are not frugal with your money.

Leslie

Academically, nothing that I could remember, in my opinion this is an excellent school. The only thing that frustrates me in the cost of the classes.

Stephanie

the cost of school 45,000 a year is simply unreal although most ppl at Miami are on strong scholarships

Rakellie

Finding a parking space.

Meredith

How unfriendly people are. You will meet someone at a party or share a cab with someone, or meet someone through a mutual friend, but when you pass them on campus they won't say hi. Being drunk is a lame excuse, its pretty hard to believe that every time you meet someone at a party they are black out drunk to the point they can't remember you. I'm sure that sometimes its true. But fight this! Go out of your way to say hi to people you recognize, it will make the world a better place.

Kirsten

The most frustrating thing about my school is that there is so much going on that you just want to be able to do everthing at once! There are so many clubs, groups, committees, teams etc. that are fun, engaging, andeducating. This school has everything from an equestrian team to a scuba club. My school really encourages students to get the most out of college by being involved in eveything we can, and Miami is the perfect place to do it. It's so frustrating not being able to be a part of absolutely everything my campus has to offer!

Mallory

The most frustrating thing is definately the tuition costs and the rush hour traffic leaving class!!!

Alison

how much it cost to go to school here and live here

Jessica

Sometimes it's hard to balance social life with academics.

Marie

The only really frustrating thing is the handling of the residential colleges, specifically in regards to freshman communities/dorms: in the dorm that I live in, there is a push for there only to be upperclassmen in the building that are either RA's or Academic Fellows (a person per floor that specializes in certain subject areas....) and while some dorms didn't have much participation from the upperclassmen, ours did and I felt that it was wrong to oust the very fabric of such a strong community.

Lily

Girls sunning on the IM fields, personifies the strongest personality type on this campus. Not enough creative weird artsy interesting people.

jacqueline

Finacial cost. But it's worth every penny.

Amanda

The demanding science classes in relation to the easy classes offered through the school or communication and business.
