They are both athletic and studious - they like sports but also care about school. They are really friendly - your friend's friends become your friends, it has a great midwestern social scene vibe.
Spirited, Smart, Liberal, Less attractive than MSU, Pot-head Hippies
Some stereotypes are that Michigan students can tend to be a bit snobby about things or a bit pretentious
They rock the shit.
I have heard people refer to the school as JEW OF M (instead of UofM).
As a high school student in Michigan I never realized how popular U of M was around the country. I was worried college here was going to be just like high school with all of the same people.
Michigan is known to be really large, to have great school spirit, and intelligent students. The out of state kids are known to be snobby and rich, while the in-state kids are less intelligent. Also, socially it has a bar scene and freshman and sophomore years are dominated by the Greek system.
That we smoke pot all the time
The people that go to Michigan are all nerds, completely obsessed with school work and the library. They never go out and have fun. The girls are all ugly, and the guys have to go to Michigan State to date.
They're all liberal They're all rich
Smart, Not Good Looking, Don't Party as hard as Michigan State, Arrogant, Over Achieving.
They are stuck up and full of themselves. A lot of my friends from high school decided to go to Michigan State and when they come to visit they say we are not heavy partiers in comparisons. Also some people say everyone who goes here is rich.

Michigan students are often seen as being very arrogant and egotistical. There is also the stereotype that everyone that goes here is rich and/or spoiled.
That they are smart.

-Snobby -Stuck up -Obnoxious
jewish stereotypes--jappy girls greek frat boys--idiots michigan students in general--arrogant lots of asians --smart
I don't think I would be able to say all the stereotypes about people at Michigan because there are so many different types of people here. I would not be able to categorize the people here by fitting them into a category of a stereotype.
That they're cocky or that they're hippies
A lot of people say that everyone is rich and stuck up; that students only care about school and the campus isn't any fun.
michigan students don't know how to party, they study all the time
Coming from Long Island, a very popular Michigan area, I had heard many stereotypes upon applying, mostly that the jappiest/worst of the New York tri-state area tend to flock there. Also, I knew Michigan as being a huge greek-life school, which caused me to be hesitant as well. Michigan is known for being a large school, but a great one academically, and of course a football-frenzy campus!
That they are all rich and very smart. Also not very attractive.
-Pompous -Arrogant -Smart -Relatively unattractive -Motivated -Asians study a lot -Hot asians -Lots of Jews -Jews own Greek system
They are either all from Michigan, Long Island, or rich.
nerdy, ugly, liberal
Huge football fans and sports fanatics, smart, not such a fun party school, big frat scene.
very smart, party hard, JAPs
Many people say that Michigan students are snooty and think that they are smarter than students at other schools. They also definitely designate stereotypes by location and group memberships.
That the girls are ugly, and we're all overacheiving and stuck-up
They don't party, spend all their time studying.
Most people think that we are a bunch of rich stuck up snobs.
We're all eggheads, we are intense about our sports teams, we're stuck up.
Michigan students are snobby, elitist, and pompous.
That we are all smart and study all of the time.
I'm honestly not sure. I've heard a lot of different things. The most common ones seem to be that we are all really smart and we are all really liberal.
Michigan students are very intelligen and goal oriented.
Greek, smart, well-rounded
A common misconception is that everyone is Asian and dweeby, no offense to Asians but it sucks to be called a dweeb. People think we are poin desters, but we are also relatively down to party. Our party is chiller than yourpregrame!
Some stereotypes are that students at U of M are very smart and not very cool. A lot of my friends who go to other schools claim that UofM doesn't know how to party and we are all lame and study too much.
Some stereotypes is that all of the girls are Jappy and the boys are cocky...
