My school is considered a drinking school and it gives the impression that everyone who goes here has to drink which is completely untrue. There are plenty of people on campus that do not drink and people are perfectly okay with that. Just be yourself, don't do anything because everyone else is doing it!
Availability of classes.
The worst thing about UMD is the parking. It can be very hard to find a parking space and even harder in the winter months when there are certain streets where you can't park on due to plowing. When living on-campus, it's better, but is quite expensive for a parking permit.
The worst thing about my school is that it gets very cold in the winter and that tution is expensive. Tutions is expensive because it is a state university but smaller and its cold cause it is located in Duluth.
The worst thing about the University of Minnesota Duluth is the food in the dining center. In my opinion, they should have many more options for food than they do.
The gym is so tiny! I really wish that it was bigger and more open.
The worst thing about University of Minnesota-Duluth is the dining center food. The food is worst then my high school food. They offer a lot of different options, but most of the choices are foods you have no idea what they are. Most of the main dishes end in hot dish or casserole. They have a good salad and sandwhich bar, but it gets old after a while.
The fact that I am so strapped for money that I can't do anything fun.
There is hardly any diversity.
Limited parking....Very hard to find a parking spot
I wish there were more internship opportunities available to students. This would help with life after college and help us get better careers after graduation.
The constant remoldeling and building new buildings.
Money. lack of financial aid, overpriced textbooks, textbooks bought back for not nearly enough.
The worst thing about my school is the alcohol and drug use on campus, even though it is a dry campus.
the academic advising because they aren't vewry helpful
People are very liberal, which isn't bad in itsself. But if you are conservative, attacks on your beliefs are fairly commonplace.
It is very liberal and can't find many people to relate to. Way too big of a school for me.
The lack of support for the guitar program.
Parking is terrible for off-campus students
Its too far away from family
It's in the north country and not a lot of racial diversity and some students come from very small towns and have never even seen non-white people before which i find suprising and frustrating.
The worst aspect about the University of Minnesota- Duluth is the cost of required books for each course. The cost of books are very expensive and no aid is provided to students to help them purchase these necessary materials. I would say I spend at least $500 per semester to pay for just the books for each course not including lab costs.
