What should every freshman at your school know before they start?
Don't be scared to leave home. It will be hard, no doubt, but your family will always be there. Make alot of new friends and don't let people who think they are better than you walk over you. Life is too short to be stressed out and let that happen. Get involved with things you enjoy on campus and don't be afraid to join things to make friends. Also make academics a big priority! I know it will be tempting to dink around your first year, but really your education is what your here for. Get good grades, make lots of friends and enjoy college while your there!

Morris is a really small campus, but despite this I think that I am getting as good of an education as at the Univeristy in the Twin Cities. Also Morris has a giant wind turbine within walking distance of the school, not many other campuses can say the same. Morris felt like home to me as soon as I toured campus, even during the dead of winter. I haven't met any people who are mean or vincitive like in High School which is refreshing.

In high school concentrate on learning everthing that you can. Don't worry about your grades, what you learn is more important. Also, get involved, join a club or sport because this allows you to experience things. You only live life once so take every opportunity handed to you and live it to the fullest. Finally get out of your comfort zone and talk to people, volunteer, you'll be amazed by what better person you'll become and a better world yoiu'll make.

It might not be the main University of Minnesota, but it is definitally not a school where you can get away with never doing any work. UMM requires dedication, class attendance, and hard work. UMM does not offer atheletic scholarships, and that could be a key point in defining where you go to school. I've also been told the pre-nurse program is not as strong as other programs offered at UMM.

Read all 5 answers What do you consider the worst thing about your school? Why?
The worst thing about my school would probably have to be nothing associated with UMM itself, but rather the fact that since it is located in Morris, it is a very small town and there is not much to do or places to go off campus. Why I consider this negative is because on the weekends when you want to spend time with your friends, it could be difficult thinking of something when not a lot of choices are provided in the first place.

The most frustrating thing about the school is its western location. There are always lots of activities via the University, but if you're not used to also making your own fun, students may find a lack of social outlets. Its at least a half hour drive to the next biggest town.
