The University of Mobile has a family friendly environment. Upon entering I was greeted and felt welcomed. I love the atmosphere and how open everyone is to talk to you even though they have never seen you before. I really enjoyed the tour and plan to attend the university this fall.
I love this school! Every time I am learning in a classroom I feel as if the professors do care and want each and everyone of us to succeed and become a success. I always feel welcomed from professors, members of staff, even from the friendly maintenance workers! Consider U Mobile as your college experience!
I think It is a fantastic school with a very focused and driven student body as well as faculty and staff who are determined to help the students get the best education they can. They have a beautiful campus and a wonderful Alabama School of the Arts Department.
It has such a great environment. I recently visited the school and is looking to enroll for the fall semester. The tour i received makes me super excited to become a Ram. There are many campus activities to participate in from sports to performing arts and I love the classes and hands on classes they provide in the psychology program.
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for University of Mobile is 61%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.
I have gotten out of my college experience no matter how hard life gets and obstacles that make me stumble its never to late to go to school and get my degree in nursing. I feel very honored to attend a christian university, with open and honest opionions who believe in freedom of speech. This has been the best school i have ever attended, the professor are always available when you need them, and we have excellent career service programs as well as mentoring programs also.
Campus Life is awesome and works to include all students, both residential and commuters, in all events. The atmosphere is welcoming and there is a strong sense of school spiri. The class sizes are small enough for the professors to communicate with each student and all of the faculty and staff show how much they care about everyone on campus.
UM is a place of great friends, great learning of your subject and yourself.
I think it is best known for the performing arts.
My classmates are people that I can depend on.
I wish I would have known to particpate in a lot as a freshman. My freshman year I was homesick so I went home a lot. You meet so many new people during the first week here at Mobile. It is such a small campus so in a month you know half the people here. Freshman year you have so much time to enjoy college life. I did not get involved as much as I would have liked to. I did not know that it would be the best time of my life.
The worst thing about my school is they do not allow students with a Minister's Dependant Scholarship to use an Academic Scholarship as well. This is the worst thing because I had to take out loans to pay for my tuition and I really did not want to do that. I earned the Academic Scholarship and I don't even get to use it.
The University of Mobile is a positive, beautiful school that is always welcoming any new or future attendees. However, keep in mind that UM is in fact a private, Christian institution, therefore the campus thrives on being "in the know" on a constant basis. Drugs, alcohol, fornication, and any other negative aspect that could blemish the school's, as well as the student's reputation is prohibited. So if you are a "fresh out of high school" student who is looking for that newfound freedom to roam (or to party), you won't find enjoyment here. UM believes in cleanliness.
Unfortunately there tends to be a lot of student drama. I think we're still learning how to adjust and deal with other on a mature level.
Small, friendly campus. Teachers involved in one on one learning.
Anyone who wants to have a great learning experience. This school is large but classes are small. The teachers know each individual person on a personal level and will gladly help anyone that needs it.
The helpfulness of the faculty.
The academics are fantastic at UM. Our professors aren't necessarily "well-known", but they each have the passion to research and teach that makes for a great professor. They don't just teach; they live out their studies and desire for the students to do so as well.
Our performing arts program is HUGE - even for non-music majors. We perform in various settings year round, and it brings every together on a heart level. It truly is something special. The whole campus bonds over rivalry athletic games (especially soccer) and over our freshman orientation bash (Ram Rush).
That we're all sheltered and naive. That couldn't be further from the truth. While we DO have a lot of people who come from sheltered, home school backgrounds, there's a larger population that is keenly aware of the world and society around them. Our school encourages us to each be a "world-changer", so this stereotype is not accurate.
