University of Mobile Top Questions

What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?

Erin

I wish I would have known to particpate in a lot as a freshman. My freshman year I was homesick so I went home a lot. You meet so many new people during the first week here at Mobile. It is such a small campus so in a month you know half the people here. Freshman year you have so much time to enjoy college life. I did not get involved as much as I would have liked to. I did not know that it would be the best time of my life.

The transition from high school to college, especially coming from a small town background, was at first a difficult one. The very atmosphere of The University of Mobile was somewhat frigtening, simply because I was not used to a campus, or a city, so large as opposed to my hometown. Overall I feel as though I was thoroughly prepared for UM, not just because of self-preparation; UM was very accurate when it came to showing students around and informing them of their class locations and times. I admit I could have put more into "mentally preparing" myself for UM.

In all honesty, everything that I had been told by the faculty at the University of Mobile is true. The campus life is fantastic because we get to grow relationally and spiritually with our classmates. The University of Mobile is such a small school so that helps to be able to grow relationships a whole lot easier in a God-centered community. They are always coming up with things to do not only on the weekends, but also during the week. Everything that they advertise about the school is nothing but truth.

Kelsey

I was well informed about the school before attending.

I wish I would have known what career I wanted before I came to the University of Mobile. This would have been very beneficial because I could have started taking classes pertaining to my major instead of just taking random classes.
