The University of Montevallo, while at first overwhelming, especially to enrolling freshmen, provides an environment so warm, understanding, and encouraging to everyone involved, be it students, staff, or visitors. It pushes young and incredibly gifted thinkers toward new heights and furthermore pushes them towards being more versatile, knowledgable, and experienced with any practice pertaining to the arts and the fine arts. It's an excellent experience that I will recommend, for years to come!
In my time here as a freshman, the University of Montevallo has been so amazing so far. The people here are so friendly and the professors are always willing to help out whenever needed. we don't have a football team, but the excitement and dedication to the other sports are definitely on par and is just as fun to cheer for. Fraternities and Sororities are not that bad and most people encourage going greek even if you only show a little interest, but it is worth joining and experiencing what it is like. The campus is beautiful and even though their aren't many things to do, you'll still have an enjoyable time here, plus there are nearby towns for your shopping needs.
Anyone I ever tell that I attend Montevallo immediately says, "Oh! You will love it!" They were absolutely right. Montevallo is a very inclusive school, who will accept all varieties of people. Professors are extremely helpful, and class sizes are perfect! This is an extraordinary university.
Movtevallo is a beautiful campus with small class sizes and and professors that you can always access. The city itself does not have a whole lot going in. There is a really great coffee shop (Eclipse) that is a great place to hangout and grad some coffee and good food. People tend to be on the liberal side. Being an art major is where its at. I love Montevallo and can not wait to experience the rest of my college life here.
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for University of Montevallo is 65%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.
The University of Montevallo was undoubtedly the best choice of college for me to make. Our small size--about three thousand students--and subsequently low faculty to student ratio make it easy for us students to get to know our professors, and vice versa. Being a face and name and not just a number at my university has made learning significantly more enjoyable and rewarding for me. I have also been fortunate to make close friendships with my classmates because people at Montevallo are friendly and accessible. The liberal arts environment on campus attracts a diverse group of creative people who are accepting to people who would not necessarily fit in on larger campuses like that of University of Alabama or Auburn University. Because we focus primarily on academics and arts instead of sports, it makes the college experience that much more enjoyable for people like me, whose interests lie in things such as creative writing, art, journalism, and environmental conservation.
The University of Montevallo is a very tight knit college, it is smaller than most, but has many advantages; almost everyone knows everybody, the student to teacher ratio is awesome, and there are always interesting things to do.
The campus is so beautiful, and there are many traditions here.
A Montevallo student should be three basic things: a "people" person, intellectually curious, and a person who thrives on individual engagement in the classroom. My university is probably the most liberal in the state of Alabama and we take great pride in being a symbol of the New South. Students here are kind, open-hearted, generous, and fiercely faithful to their fellow students. Any newcomer should expect to become part of a genuine community. In short, anyone can be happy here because even the so-called outcast is beloved and their intellectual heft cherished.
My classmates often seek to get to know others well by studying together and going to social events together as well to develop new friendships.
The University of Montevallo is a wonderful campus and does not have many downfalls. However, deciding which of the many classes to take is probably the worst part. There are a variety of classes for the students intended major and a variety of classes that allow students to become well-rounded in their college career. Also, all of the professors at the University are all extremely qualified and make learning so much fun. Deciding who your favorite teacher is extremely difficult. Finding time to take all of the classes you are interested in can prove to be a task.
Anyone can attend this college. It is homely to everyone.
The best thing about my school is that everyone is friendly and willing to help you with whatever you may need while attending at this school. The faculty, staff, and students are all working together to be a cohesive little community that takes care of one another. Everyone seems to really care, and you are not just a number. You are a person.
College night/ our homecoming tradition! and our cobblestone streets.
That living on campus would be worth it.
My school is best known for its art department. Theatre is one of the largest majors at University of Montevallo. Music is also a huge department and I have many friends who are music majors. Many of the students plan on teaching, and others are looking for professional careers.
You can walk across campus in less than five minutes. It's a small school and definitely comes with the "small school" feel. It's annoying having only a few places to go around campus and then on top of that, the city of Montevallo doesn't have much more. You have to drive fifteen miles to the next town to go shopping or see a movie.
The campus at Montevallo is beautiful! It is a completely different environment. You have students from all around the world, who enjoy different things and no matter how different you are there is always something and someone who can relate with you. The school is not too big, nor too small. It is a perfect sized campus for everyone. There are so many different clubs and organizations you can join at Montevallo and it just makes you feel like you're at home. It is your home away from home and it is the best college out there!
