University of Nevada-Las Vegas Top Questions

ok so unlv is literally like one mile from the las vegas strip which makes any sort of entertainment you can imagine possible. great food, shows, bars whatever you want to do, you can do it. it can be expensive though, especially if you do it every weekend. to escape some of the high costs go out to the suburbs like henderson, summerlin, etc. that is where most of the students live anyways and there are just as much to do out there and it is a bit cheaper. immediately around campus however is a different story. it is very cheap and kinda run down directly around the campus. the campus is gorgeous but around it is not. there are some pretty good fast food type places and a mall close but other than that it is mostly lower income housing and old shopping centers. there is no real university town unfortunately. on campus there are always things going on. this is especially true for students who live on campus. there are always different functions or activities that you can do to keep you from being bored.
