In a few brief words, since I have been here at UNO for two years now, I've learned several things about what it means to be in college and how hard managing things as a new adult can be. However I feel that coming to a school like UNO has helped me transition from high school better than going somewhere out of state could have prepared me for. There are several clubs you can join that may align with your future career path or some you can be in just as a fun extracurricular. Despite my rough first year, I'm glad it happened here than anywhere else.

Natalia - 02/04/2023

It is a fun school with a lot of culture, the professors are kind and thoughtful and there are many things to do in the city. There is a lot of diversity and a lot of events throughout the years. You can find many clubs to join like a multicultural club and International Game Developers Association.

The University of New Orleans has been a place of personal growth for me in many ways. Not only has it created a safe environment for me to pursue my academic goals and interests, but it's become a place that I will cherish for days to come. As I graduate high school, I had no direction, no idea what to do with myself, etc. I joined the military right after and unfortunately it did not work out. I came home from book camp smack dab in the middle of what would have been my freshman first semester. Immediately, I jumped into the spring semester as my freshman first semester and was met with overwhelming support and help from not only the staff at UNO, but the students and the facilities they offered. UNO was a place where I found my path and a place where I found myself emotionally, mentally, and physically. I would always tell people that if they don't know what they want to do, just take the first step and the things around you will begin to fall in place. Your path will expose itself to you through time and confidence. Just believe and have hope.
