University of North Carolina at Greensboro Top Questions

A typical weekend at UNCG is not ALL about drinking, but I must say there is some of that going on. As long as you pick the right friends though you should have a great weekend. UNCG is usually having fun events going on to keep you from going home or if you want to get away from campus. We have a huge mall, too many restaurants, parks, bowling allies, ice skating, WET N WILD, museums, and also a Coliseum that stay packed with concerts by famous artists.

A lot of students go to the local bars, or have parties or small social gatherings at their homes. Other students who grew up in near by towns such as Winston-Salem, or Kernersville go back home to see their families and friends there. There are a few clubs such as the Blind Tiger or Green-Street that have live music and dj sets. Coffee shops have small shows as well. Tate Street and Walker Street are also a pretty popular spots to find things to do on the weekend, places to drink and eat, there is also a lot of student housing located on this street, so its not a far walk to local activities if you live on those streets.

I work Friday/Saturday nights at a restaurant in town. My options after work are to either go drinking at a bar or leave the city for something like a concert. There are occasionally decent shows in Greensboro, but most of the time it is generic dj music.
