When you step of campus you see stores and restaurants surrounding you. Such as Walgreen's, CVS, Wendy's, Tattoo shop, bookstore, Manhattan Pizza and Subs, and more :)
Lots of student housing, and students biking and walking around. Yum Yums (A local food joint), and The Old Town Tavern.
It really depends on how far you "step off" campus. Right outside of campus on Spring Garden St. there is a great local venue called The Blind Tiger, a few head shops, a few coffee shops, and a few delicious restaurants. If you travel about 5 miles away from campus you end up in the ghetto. Look out for High Point Rd!
