What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?

I wish I had known that the there would be nothing to do in Winston-Salem before I came ehre. I came in with the expectation of a college town, but there really isn't anything to do here and it's saddening.

I wish had a better understanding of the idea of growing as an artist and as a person can be (and often is) separate from the pressures of a potential career. You can seek and find both here, but you should not let one get in the way of the other. If you are coming to this school to do what you love, always be sure that this institution is nurturing that love and not hindering it, because it can do both. Otherwise, always keep an open mind and a positive outlook.

Although I haven't attended UNCSA at this moment, I wished that I had known how successful prospective students were once they've graduated and applied for employment in their academic fields. Initially. I believed that students would still run the chance of being turned down despite their qualifications and placed in different crew positions. While that's fine with me, the current students have stated the University actually prepares you for every position on a crew before you start focusing directly on you're preferred discipline. This allows you to be more knowledgable of your surrounds.
