The students here are very accepting of everyone regardless of their religious background. A common misconception is that if you're not Catholic then you will feel excluded. True, the numerous mass services and statues of religious figures can feel overwhelming, but no one is forced into any ideology. Students are also very accepting other students who struggle. Everyone here is so helpful and they will help anyone the best that they can. I feel very included here despite the fact that the majority of the student body is white. Overall, the best thing is that people are very accepting.
The best thing about Notre Dame is the people. The alumni network is phenomenal and the staff and students there are genuinely interested in your success. I have truly made some lifelong friends during my time at the University of Notre Dame and for that reason, if nothing else, I am forever grateful that I had the opportunity to go there.
What I really thing sets Notre Dame apart is the dorm life. We don't have sororities or frats but because the dorms are single sex, they are basically sororities with no hazing and no exclusivity or clique-iness. We all think our dorms are the best and we have big competitions and rivalries, as well as dances, charity events, and all kinds of fun stuff! 80{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c} of students live in the dorms and 98{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c} of students stay in their same dorm all three or four years that they are on campus. We are our own little community and I love the girls in my dorm more than anything! Notre Dame is one big family, and your dorm-mates are like your sisters (or brothers). I also do love the school spirit. I love that everyone is grateful to be here and loves it here and really believes in what this place is all about. That doesn't happen at every school (I'm from a college town and it definitely isnt like that at Mizzou!). No one is stuck-up or snotty. We are all hard workers, but we know how to enjoy life, give back, and laugh at ourselves. I love the people here more than I can possibly express!
THe sense of community and friendliness that everyone seems to have.
The life-long relationships developed at Notre Dame distinguish the University because they exemplify the defining aspects of the school. The Catholicism manifests itself in many ways, but one of the most striking is the development of faith life in the students as they form life-long relationships with God. The emphasis on learning primes the students to probe life's greatest questions and share perspectives with one another as they develop life-long relationships with each other. And so these two priorities of the school, faith and learning, truly set Notre Dame apart.
The best thing about my school are the professors and the school spirit.

Notre Dame Footbal- Brings the school together and offers a great experience to all students on fall weekends!
Notre Dame is a very unique school. You are part of a family from the moment you receive your acceptance and remain part of it for the rest of your life. The tradition and history are unparalleled, and the quality of the professors and courses are extremely high, and the campus community is very close-knit. Notre Dame s a nationally recognized school, and everywhere you go the members of that family will open their arms to you.
Huge sense of community, incomparable academics
The Spirit.
Notre Dame is one of the most spirited, spiritual, and friendliest schools I've ever heard of or visited. Stereotypes say that people at Notre Dame are just nicer... and it's true. I think these three factors all go hand in hand. We are all enormously proud of where we go, and we embrace its spiritual side no matter what our faith, which leads us to be both spirited and happy.
The Spirit of Notre Dame. Everyone loves Notre Dame that goes here.
The school spirit, loyal alumni and strong alumni networks, history and tradition, academics.
The sense of family and community not only within the student body, but within the alumni network. Everyone here is really invested in the community, and students generally try to be helpful and supportive of one another. The alumni try to keep in touch with the school as much as possible, and it is as common to see their opinions about the University printed in our student newspaper as it is to see student opinions printed in the newspaper. The sense of family at Notre Dame is unlike anything I've seen at other schools.
The spirit of Notre Dame. It's unreal.

Football when we win
I think the best thing about Notre Dame was that people made very close-knit social groups. Things did translate into a clique atmosphere some of the time, and the demographics of ND are very homogenous, but overall I was able to find a great group of people who shared my views. If not for Notre Dame, I'm not sure who I would be or what I'd be doing today.
Football weekends. Hands down.
School spirit and the sense of community. Even though ND is located in the middle of nowhere you will feel like you are truly part of a dorm and campus community. Football season is definitely the best time of the year and memories of the fun you had then and the lazy days of sitting on the quad in the spring will help get you through the South Bend winter!
sense of community - general helpfulness and friendliness of people
Washington Hall, an old theater building, is ND’s most haunted building.
