There's a prevalent stereotype that a large number of ND students are legacies. We're also reputed to have a fantastic on-campus residential life. Some people feel Notre Dame is too liberal, some feel it is too conservative.

The school is very tough, especially the first year of studies. The students are predominantly smart, athletic--and well-rounded, by and large.

There is the upper class white catholic irish stereotype. Also our school tends to be pretty jock-friendly. I've heard it been called "Catholic Disneyland", but only from people who go/teach there.

In general I think the stereotypes are that Notre Dame students are rich, stuck up, and smart. The stereotype about the University itself is that we care a lot about football and that it is an academically challenging school and it is diffficult to get in.

Currently I'm studying abroad in a program that isn't just for Notre Dame students...consequently, I talk to kids outside of Notre Dame and hear that most of them think Notre Dame is a bunch of rich, white, pretentious kids that never have to work for what they want, it's all handed down to them from "Daddy". I think there's also the stereotype that everyone is Catholic, and "super-overly-100{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c} support everything the Church has ever said and done" Catholic at that.

Girls are unattractive. Kids are smart. Football weekends are a blast. Drinking runs rampant. Feminists roam freely and unabated.

Everyone at Notre Dame is rich and stuck up. They are hard working but love to party on the weekends.
