If I could go back in time and talk to my high school self, I’d tell myself to get a job while I was still in school rather than wait like I did. . I’d have been able to save more money for college, and would be that much closer to being independent. I’d have given myself more information on scholarships than my school did, so I could have started applying even sooner than I did. I would also tell myself to apply for the scholarships that I didn’t think I would get. I stayed away because I thought it would be a waste of time. Now I wish I had done them as a senior, because I don’t qualify for many of them now that I’ve graduated high school. I was really worried about the difficulty of my classes, and I would have told myself that it really isn’t as hard as I was thinking. As long as I went to class and paid attention, I’d do just as well as I was doing in high school. Finally, I would have told myself to enter as a Business major early on.
University of Pheonix is a college that maintains a partnership with you for the rest of your life.
Classmates work full-time and realize a good education is needed to get ahead.
My school is best known for helping the professional person. The curriculum is structered to help someone succeed in their current or future field of work. If a student attends a campus than class is once a week. Class and homework is still manageable in a person's busy life. Suppose the person works full time and still has to manage a family. How are they able to fit everything into one day? University of Phoenix helps with that solution.
At typical colleges, classes are usually held from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. at night. At University of Phoenix, students are able to attend school on their own schedule. This type of schedule really puts a crimp on the times that students can access resources like the library, writing labs, and math labs. With University of Phoenix online learning students are able to access their classes, assignments, library, writing lab, math lab, at any time during their life.
I do not recommend this school for someone just starting college and are unsure of their career path. University of Phoenix classes are fast paced and may not suit everyones needs.
I like the class sizes and that the program is accelerated and focused. The teachers are knowledgable in their field with real world experience. Most of the reading relates to real world experience. The schedule fits well for those working full-time or raising a family.
