University of Phoenix-Online Campus Top Questions

The worst thing about my school would be: there is no actual face to face interaction. Since everything is online, I am only ale to communicate through a computer screen. Other than that, everything is wonderful!

My academic counselor changed a couple of times throughout my time at the UOP.

I wouldnt say it is the worst thing because I love my school but a disadvantage to online classes is more or less you teach yourself. Yes there is a teacher to email with questions but it is so different then being in a classroom instructed by a teacher. My biggest difference is reading an e-book verses a text book.

I am a hands on person who like to be in front of my instructor at lease 3 times out the week so I can get a better understanding of the material. The campus that is located in my town do not have the opportunity to attend the on campus schooling part time, this means I can not go to school 3 days out the week and 4 days on line.

I don't consider anything bad or worse about University of Phoenix, online campus, they have been extremely helpful to me. My advisor, counselor and even my instructor have called me to make sure I was comfortable with my classes on the first day and throughout the weeks of class.

I really have anything bad to say about the school

The worst thing I can say about this school would be that you don't get the human interaction in person.

I do not care much for the group projects, but other than that I am happy.

The worst thing about the UoP is that you can not hear your classmates voices. Although it can often be a positive as well because it causes the students to focus on the work and not each other as much.

The worst thing at my school has nothing to do with my school really. It is just the self-discipline. You really have to keep yourself motivated and focus to make sure that you are responsible and get your work done and participate and everything. It can be tough sometimes, but you have to learn how to press on and be diligent.

The wordt thing about my school is the job placement department. As far as recieving a job during or upon completion of your education you are left completely to your own devices

I would consider the lack of face to face social interaction the worst thing about my school. I would consider that to be the worst thing about my school because as humans we are social creatures and thrive in that environment. People also may learn better with a teacher physically in front of them lecturing rather than through a computer screen.

I think the worse thing about my school is the team assignments because our teams do not sit together at a table in person. We try to communicate with out teammates online and we are all online at different times. This can make team projects difficult.

At this time the only thing is cost.

I think the worst thing about my school, and it's not my school specifically, is not getting the school experience. Sitting in class, seeing people, the smell of books, and listening to your teacher actually talk rather than reading what she says.

The worst thing about my school is the cost of tuition. I had to get 2 loans just to cover my expensies. This makes it hard for low income families to return to school to better themselves.

The worst thing I would consider about University of Phoenix, online campus, is the fact that you are going to classes by yourself and are not able to see your classmates or instructors face-to-face at times.

No immediate contact with instructors, you have to contact them and wait for responses that might take a day or so.

The worst thing about this school is the voice communication I have with my professors. As an online student I know thats a lot to ask for but it would be great if teachers would reach out to their students instead of an advisor.

The worst possible thing that I could come up with is the fact that you get teachers with very different teaching ways and some can be on top of things and some can be a little lazy. Meaning I have one teacher now that requires a lot of writing from us and is on top of their job duties as a teacher. I had another teacher though that responded slowly to class work, to grading, and she really didnt "teach" anything. Just assigned work for us to complete and thats all. No interactions.

The worst thing about University of Phoenix is the assistance. There have been times that I have needed assistance with both instructors as well as advisors, and it was almost impossible to get the help I needed. It took many attempts, and more time than it should have.

Seen I have been working on my degree I have not had any type of worst experience . Mainly because I mainly focus on what needs to be done. When attending college you have a frame of mind in focusing with a degree that could help you became successful. You just don't worry about what is causing things that are around you. I'm a positive person and I just keep moving forward without worring about things. Because when you start to worriy about things it tends to cause us alot of physical hardships on own bodies that causes issues.

There is nothing I don't like about my school I love everything.

I have only taken two classes so far and I actually really enjoy it. There is nothing that I have found bad about it yet, the instructors are awesome and the academic counselors really care.

At this point, I do not have anything negative to say about the University of Pheonix. If I had to choose something, then I guess the cost of attending UoP (or any higher education school) would be the worst thing that I can find.

Lack of person to person contact. The online format does not allow you to go to a professors office and have a private conversation.

The worst part of my school is the fact that I am unable to meet teachers face to face. I feel that sometimes this can be a disadvantage especially in instances where an on campus teacher would be able to write me a reference letter or tutor me one on one.

The team assignments are very beneficial and teach leadership and team-building skills but many students do not work well with others and it becomes difficult on some student's grades.

The worst thing about the school is that there is no face to face interaction with students and teachers because all the school work is done online. There are local campus settings, but the online setting is perfect for me.

The worst thing about attending University of Phoenix online is that I do not get the face to face interaction that I would if I was attending college on campus. This becomes an issue when trying to communicate with other students, because there are times, no matter how good your grammar is, that your message may come across with a tone that is was not intended to. This can lead to some minor disagreements in the classroom.

The only thing, in my opinion, is the feeling of being in an actual classroom where you can not only see the instructor but you could see what the instructor was writing on the chalkboard or whiteboard. You could get a better understanding of the class and the work by repeating things for memory. Attending online, you have to picture yourself in a classroom so that you can understand the material and the courses in oder to come up with good logical answers to your classmates discussion posts and work in teams from students all over.

There is no set late policy on assignments.

The worst thing about this school are some instructors not being on top of things like assignments and grades. In my three blocks of classes, I always had an instructor that was dragging time to get things graded or even get a reply from. I did not give it much thought, but after I talked with my advisor she shared with me that they actually have a time frame of when to get back to a student, and when I let her know this instructor was informed and I finally got my replys back.

It is not seen as a highly regarded school; most frown upon it.

Although I have absolutely no complaints about the University of Phoenix, and I have thoroughly enjoyed my time there, I guess I would say the worst thing about the school is that I am not attending actual classes, I am taking them online. I personally need this learning style so that I can work but I feel as though I would have an even better experience at the campus in Arizona.

The fact that it is online, you don't get to interact with other students like you would in a regular classroom.

What I consider to be the worst thing about my school is that I can either never get a hold of my advisors, or the school keeps changing them on me with out telling me.

The hardest thing about this school is the fact that it is online. You do not interact with the students and teachers except through forums or phone calls if necessary. It takes motivation to keep up on the school, so if you are a self-motivated person you should do well in this environment. They also do not offer Social Work degrees which is something I would love to see offered.

The worst thing I consider about attending the University of Phoenix online campus is that it is not like a traditional learning environment. It is difficult to adapt to that change. Learning has always been under face to face circumstances. Now, the opportunity to ask questions and get an immediate response is gone, and students have to wait on an email before they can move on.

Learning Teams- not going to be much different anywhere you go, but it is always difficult when yu have to depend on other people to get the grade you know you deserve individually.

The cost of this school is rather expensive. I am receiving a great education but it's extremely expensive. I am nervous about my student loan repayment.

The only thing I can think of is that it runs on Phoenix time. If you live in a different time zone you need to be careful when you post to the site.

This college is so expensive, if you don't have the money to go here... Don't.

Sometimes the groups sessions are not so good. I have been on several teams and I have only had one bad team experience which I am grateful for. Sometimes I am not sure that working in teams is the best way to go.

The extensive flexiblity. Lots of room to slack off if you let yourself go. Also is a bit more pricey.

The worst thing about my school is the focus on team assignments, because of getting team mates that are unwilling to help with the work on the assignments.

The worst thing is not having an actual book to read, instead all my books are online and at times can be frustrating.
