University of Phoenix-Online Campus Top Questions

What's the most frustrating thing about your school?

Lindsey

Their tough policies on plagiarism sometimes lead them to make unjust punishments. I know someone who got a zero on an assignment simply because she accidentally did not cite a passage.

Shenece

The most frustruating about my school is the workload. To attend my school, a person must know how to manage time and find a balance between work, family, and school. If a person does not, they will be unable to succeed.

Rachael

For me taking the most frustrating thing about school is time management. I am a mother of 3 children who all have one leel of ADHD or another. So making the time to study has been the greatest challenge for me. I have done a pretty good job so far and they have been pretty helpful in knowing that when it is time for me to do my work I have to be focused and left alone.

Brandis

I wish the school were less expensive. It is frustrating to think about the school loans that await me once I have completed my degree.

Trula

I attend the University of Phoenix online classes. The hours and time you spend are very flexible. Really there is nothing that frustrating about it. One thing I do get frustated with is having to go online at least four times a week, this can become nerve racking but at least it is not every day. . However, you can do this any day just as long you get the exact amount of time in. I guess everthing is pretty much ok.

Crystal

Since I am taking my courses online, I suppose the most frustrating thing about my school is that I do not see my teachers directly. I am not able to speak to them at the moment if I have a question. But, I enjoy being able to do my work anywhere at anytime.

Summer

The most frustrating thing about my school is the lack of days off. You only get a two week break per year and that is for Chritsmas and New Years.

Inmaculada

The most frustrating thing about my school would be the cost. I do not understand why it costs so much to get an education. You do not have to pay to go to elementary, middle, or high school besides taxes. I do not understand why you have to pay so much for college. You are the one paying for it but you still have to go by your parents income which makes you less eligable for grants. I understand having to pay for college but I just do not get why is has to cost so much.

Loreal

The most frustrating thing about my school is trying to find funding for it. It is so expensive especially for single parents like myself, who are working to make ends meet. Financial aid isn't enough to cover it and private loans are hard to qualify for without a co-signer. I would really like to finish schooling so that I may obtain a better job. It doesn't help that the school constantly raises the prices of tuition.

Greg

Having to check in at least four days a week.

Priscilla

Rising level of college debt, furthers complicate the financial view for college graduates.

judy

Finacial Aid Finding!! The funds to pay for a costly education. Being on a limited income I can not afford to pay any out of pocket funds for my education. Therefore, the finance counselor needs to be more understanding.

Jessica

The most frustrating thing about Phoenix is also the thing I would change. Another frustrating thing is the amount of reading and work required in the week. Because it is not a typical college campus, we only have class one night per week for four hours. All other work is completed between classes. We do 16 weeks worth of materials in 5 weeks, which is very demanding.

DAWN

The most frustrating part is the financial aid.

Darlene

There is no breaks and the course are nine weeks, instead of six or seven weeks courses.

Jodi

The only thing that I find frustrating about my experience thus far at the University of Phoenix's Online Campus is the time difference. I live in Ohio, and there is a three hour time difference. Sometimes, when I receive phone calls from school, it is still very early here. Other than that, my experience at University of Phoenix has been wonderful.

Porscha

One thing that is frustrating about school is sometimes finding the time to sit down and focus on your work. Between work and everday home life sometimes it gets very difficult to find that calm down time to do your work.

Shaun

I am very satisified with my school

Peter

The lack of intelligent and stimulating interaction with other students and teachers. That is the downside of online education. In a school like UoP, you never know who you're gonna get in your online forums.

mariam

I have just started my school year just a week ago so far there has been no frustrations. However like many other student I am frustrated by filling out applications, scholarships, and finical aid. I also had problems figuring out how and when I am going to pay for my education. The hardest thing right now is that I am having trouble learning how the online system operates there are many things that we need to post at many different page. The other important thing is that I am having trouble managing my study time and my free time.

Melanie

For me the most frustrating thing is not having the money to pay for it.

Amanda

Well I just started, but so far I'd have to say the most frustrating is that we have to post two substantive comments in discussion, four days a week, and it is like looking for a needle in a haystack sifting through posts from other students, trying to find something to respond to that would be substantive and not repetitive. People reply with "I agree", which doesn’t leave you much to go on.

Brandi

There is nothing frusturating about the school.

Terry

The financing area. I have 3 classes left to graduate and they are tellingme my financial aid is not there and I need to find scholarships or grants or pay out of pocket. The cost of going to school exceeds my income and I will have to drop out if I can not get any funding.

Lynelly

The fact that the the student website acts up alot. For example you will login, click to go into your classroom and it will ask you to login again.

Lisa

cost

Terri

The most frustrating thing about UOP is it is very expensive.

Leticia

That I would not be able to use my degree.

Lisa

The only aspect that would have most bothered me would be the long period of time a few instructors took to grade papers.

aimee

The most frustrating thing about my school is the financial aid situation. I am getting a run around about when I am getting my financial aid and they will not call me back when I need them to.

Gloria

The most frustrating thing about being an online student is setting up a social network where students can socialize, study together, and keep each other informed of important issues. We are in the process of setting up a chat room for our online sorority and study group.

David

Sometimes there were unclear directions for assignments. I remember this because my GPA dropped from a 3.4 to 3.13. It was the finals in two classes that had the unclear directions, It lead me to recieve two C's.

monique

Finding all the research that is needed. Getting those to leave you alone long enough to get your assignments done. Th way some qustions are phrased. The way others thing it might not be for you because of your age. No support from your employer or other employees

Erin

Not being able to see the other students.

Priscilla

It is hard trying to complete team projects with classmates acroos the United States. You have to communicate via email, forums, and telephone. It is hard to get everyone together to get the projects done.

Steven

Probably the fact that sometimes it is time consuming.

Sara

I felt like I have been lied to. They ask annoying questions in an interview process. Financial aid was a nightmare. I am feeling depressed because I may have to pay out of pocket expenses, which I clearly don't have. I am unemployed. They say they will work with you, when in reality they won't. If you fail or drop a class, then you have to pay for it, so it's double the amount. So it pricey if you are struggling.

Kathleen

The most frustrating thing was that my advisor was changged several times during my 2.5 yrs at the university.

Cheryl

The learning teams are difficult because of the time zone differences between team members, lack of responsibility of some team members, and uneven levels of member contributions. I felt that in most of my classes I had to save the team from missing or not completing an assignment. If we had a live chat forum instead of just a message forum to the learning teams, I think that they would operate better and I would be more satisfied with the process. It is hard to find students who are as motivated, organized, and diligent as I am.

Brittany

I think that the most frustrating about my school is just the attendance policy because my schedule with working a full time job and being a parent makes it somewhat hard to manage the time to focus on my attendance and just enough time to complete my assignments. However, other than that, there is nothing frustrating about my school.

Miranda

In all honesty, I do not find anything frustrating about my online college! I am so glad to tell my friends that I am a Phoenix! Taking online classes is so much more simple and much more conveinent that a traditional college. There are so many tools in the University Library and students and teachers help.. what could there be to be frustrated about? I believe there is nothing to be frustrated about! That is just me though I guess.

Jennifer

Getting firm answers from the educational advisors when asking questions.

Isabel

changing financial aid rules on grants and scholarships

Jonathan

The most frustrating thing about my school is that there is a lack of communication with some teams. Most people expect more from others to complete team assignment on time before them. We all are going to college with single moms and working individuals every day, and students who stay at home; however, have more time than others. This can be frustrating, because it is not fair to the students that are independent and working while going to school raising a family.

Justine

The independence that come with distant learning courses can be frustrating at times. But it is the best part of education to me it really nurtures your problem solving skills. Like a gift and a curse. You know when you are working on a class assingment at 2am you may not be able to reach your teacher but given the many online forums that UoP has you may find a student online at the same time as you yoou swap number or set your web cams and boom instant tutoring session and a B in Math115.

Cynthia

I get frustrated sometimes not being a traditional class, but that is very seldom. Basically, when I am waiting for a response to a teacher that takes the full time allowed to answer the question. I have to then stop my train of thought and wait for the response.

Patricia

So far, the only thing that has frustrated me is having to wait to start my classes. I was hoping to get started last month but because of how my financial aid will be paid I have to wait. I was hoping that the my financial aid advisor could help me to get started sooner than later because I am anxious to get started. I guess these things happen to a lot of students.

Brian

The most frustrating thing is having books online only.

Rudolph

I feel the most fustrating part of my experience would be others would not pull their weight. I am a team player and I made sure that both my team and myself were successful on completing our assigned projects on time, despite the lack of work from others. It was a challenge, and I utilized all my resources and did what ever it took to make sure the job gets done ontime.

Virginia

what is the most frustrating thing about the University of Phoenix-Online Campus is that I can't find anything really that frustrate my in any way, if anything you can feel more relaxed in the classes because you are in your own home but still have the opportunity to learn.
