Who I was going to be living with.
High school did not present a challenge for me. I easily passed classes just by showing up and taking tests. The word study did not even exist in my vocabulary. I believed college would be the same way and I would be able to pass just by showing up. However, the University of Pittsburgh Johnstown (UPJ) surpassed many of my expectations. Because I was not aware of how demanding classes were, I did not start off strong. If I had prior knowledge of how challenging the courses were, I may not have struggled as much as I did.
I wish that I would have know better study tactics before coming to the University of Pittsburgh-Johnstown. In my freshmen year, I seemed to be more focused on my social life than my academics and found myself cramming and struggling at the end of each semester in order to bring my grades up to where I expected them to be fore myself.
Before I came to this school I wish I had known about all the oppertunities I could have taken advantage of in high school that could have made my college experience even better. For example if I had done a few other extra curriculars, I would have jumpstarted some oppertunities in college.
I wish I would have known how difficult the courseload would be.
I wish I had known more about required classes and general education courses instead of jumping into the first major I thought was right for me.
