The campus is absolutely beautiful and located in a great city. The campus facilities are also top quality. The cathedral of learning is an example of a marvellous construction in the university that provides a great place for studying. The city is very cultural and this reflects on the university with its high diversity in the student body, as well as rooms themed with the nationalities of all those who helped build the cathedral of learning. There are also great places to visit around the university like the strip district, South side works, and Mount Lebanon. Pitt is known for its academics and always places high among other top universities in the world. Where its amazing with academics, it's superb with sports. Pitt is well known for our great athletes.

The University of Pittsburgh is in an urban city with a small town feel. This allows you to get the best of both worlds. You can experience the traditional campus while having access to many opportunities and amenities. Pitt is known for its STEM programs and it is especially ideal for those looking to pursue a career in the medical field. With several teaching hospitals on campus, like UPMC Presbyterian, students have endless opportunities to volunteer, shadow and participate in research programs through several hospitals on campus. It's candy land for any premed student! The student body is very welcoming and you will quickly start to call Pitt your home. When football season rolls around, get ready to see how dedicated we are to our team! As a student, I am genuinely satisfied with the education that I am receiving. The curriculum is challenging and the professors do an incredible job supporting and encouraging their students. Overall, I am so happy that I made the choice to come to Pitt. Hail to Pitt!

The University of Pittsburgh is a great place to go for your undergraduate degree. It's the perfect balance of strong academics, arts, and athletics. The buildings and facilities are outstanding and the Pathfinders are so nice and helpful when is comes to deciding if Pitt is for you.

I have made amazing memories and wonderful friends at Pitt. The campus student body has a wonderful blend of intellectuals who also enjoy participating in sporting events, extra curricular activities, and social outings. At Pitt, I gained immense academic knowledge amongst fellow young scholars while also enjoying Pitt athletics, Greek Life events, volunteer opportunities, and Pittsburgh's unique night life. I would do anything to go back!

It is a rigorous university, especially in the STEM fields. They don't consider it a "public Ivy" for nothing. The campus is relatively small and walking doesn't take much time, but it is hilly. Students and staff are friendly, and there is plenty to do around campus or around the city.

The University of Pittsburgh has so much to offer for up and coming students in the STEM field. With research facilities and professors at the tip of your fingers, there are more than enough resources and opportunities to take advantage of to get a head start in your career. The community is very welcoming and accepting of all different kinds of people around campus. You are never left bored with the variety of activities, night life, and good friends you come across while at this school. Enjoy it !! Hail2Pitt!!

Pitt is a super fun campus to live on and we have direct access to the city as students. Learning is always encouraged in every aspect of school life. We get to go to all of the local museums for free along with public transportation. The food could be better and the on campus housing is bearable and fun. I love being able to walk to everything I could want. I wouldn't change my Pitt experience for the world. I love going to Pitt football games at Heinz Field!

I have mostly fallen in love with this school. I don't for a minute regret my decision to attend this school. There is plenty to do on campus and they also provide public transportation just so that we aren't always stuck on campus. I have met a great group of friends who I can tell are going to be in my life forever and people are always open to meeting and befriending others. It is the perfect academic environment for me because everyone motivates each other. I love this school so much and can't wait to go back in the fall.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

I currently attend the University of Pittsburgh and should graduate in April 2019. I major in English Writing and Africana Studies. Both of departments have a variety of classes and a format that push me to strengthen my skills and learn my craft more. I am able to get discounts on arts programs happening in the city through Pitt Arts, and there are two museums right on campus along with the Hillman Library AND the Carnegie Library across the way. My adviser, though sometimes a bit eccentric, is competent and helpful. Most of my professors have been great. I feel that the University of Pittsburgh challenged me academically, socially, and as a leader and I can genuinely say that it has changed my life for the better. If you are a person of color or Black, know that you will be a minority, but from what I can see, smaller communities are growing stronger yearly and there's an overall school spirit that can become full in your heart, especially during football season. Additionally, there's College Democrats, College Republicans, the Marxists, Socialists, and everyone in between. There's the Campus Women's Organization, Asian Students Alliance, Caribbean and Latin American Students Association, African Student Organization, a space for International Students, Black Action Society, Rainbow Alliance, the Hub, Student Government (they work hard! There's always an event happening!!) and TONS of other groups that are/are not culturally or politically based. Student health can be a drag at times, but you can get insurance through Pitt so that's helpful. On the other hand, there are several hospitals on/around campus, so if you have an emergency, you're not far from help at any point. The campus is easily accessible and beautiful. The worst dorm was an okay dorm to stay in, so the dorm life isn't terrible. Food is average, the vegetarian and plant-based diet options are increasing. Most importantly, I haven't seen one roach since I stepped foot here in 2015. Overall, I'd say Pitt is one of THE BEST public colleges the United States has to offer.
