The activities and interests of students are very diverse. Any passion you have can be assomocated here, and chances are, you'll find someone who shares that passion.
The best thing about this school is how passionate every teacher is. Each professor wants to be here and wants to teach.
The best thing about the University of Puget Sound is the campus community. All of the students, faculty and staff at this university go out of their way to make sure that I feel at home. The professors are genuinely committed to helping me succeed to the best of my ability, providing a great academic support system. I truly feel at home at this university because of the warm welcome I have recieved from everyone at this school as an incoming freshman. There is a great community here, in both the academic and the social spheres of college life.
The best thing about UPS is the environment. Not only are you in a gorgeous place that reaps the benefits of natural beauty, but you are also supported by so many people in a variety of areas throughout the campus. The people who go to school here might be strange or different from what you are used to, but they are all amazing, and most of them will rush to be by your side no matter what time it is whenever you need them. Trust me, we take care of each other.
The professors at this school are the best. They are considerate, caring, interesting, intellectual and very engaging. It is rare to find a terrible professor on this campus and the interactions between student and professor are natural. Tied for the best thing at this school is the orientation program. UPS does such a great job at introducing incoming freshman to upperclassmen and just the campus life in general. Numerous activities and introductions to the academic setting of the school, social life and professors are all included in a weeklong orientation process that allows plenty of time for adjustment.
Campus is absolutely gorgeous! I can't say I have ever seen a prettier campus. There have been a lot of recent changes that have been huge upgrades: Commencement Walk, Weyerhaueser Hall, and residence hall renovations. Commencement Walk is a new stone path from one end of campus (starting at the library) to the other (ending at the stadium) leading the graduating class to the commencement ceremony. Weyerhaueser Hall is the new health sciences building. It houses the psychology, exercise science, occupational/physical therapy department, labs, and a clinic. Lastly, there have been renovations to the inside of residence halls. They look like hotels inside! They are really great.
The best thing about the University of Puget Sound is its cohesiveness; the unified body it presents, as comprised of engaging and involved faculty members, various activities and clubs to suit any interest, kind (though mostly wealthy) students, and - best of all - an extremely hard-working and admirable facilities staff.
The best thing about my school is honestly a hard thing to pick. However, I would say that the best thing is the small campus/student body. By having so many students we are able to have smaller class sizes. It is really nice to be able to get help from your professor both in and out of class because they actually have the time for you.
The best thing about University of Puget Sound is its commitment to encourage students to get involved with on-campus activities such as Sororities and Fraternities, clubs, seminars, plays and musicals, concerts, and cultural events.
The class sizes are surprisingly small, which allows students to engage their professors and learn much more adequately than one would be able to at a normal four-year university. The classes are also extensively discussion-based, which further allows students to engage their peers and integrate themselves into the campus community inside and outside of class.
The best thing about UPS is that while students are dedicated to their work, they also know how to have fun. I have found a great group of intelligent, creative, dedicated people with whom I can not only study and talk about the world, but also be silly and joke around with.
The best thing about this school is the way that students can interact with the professors and the opportunities for learning. Tell people about your interests and dreams and they will help you make things happen.
Most of the students are very music and artistically inclined and enjoy being very creative. There are always shows and music and art related events happening on and off campus.
The campus feel and classroom sizes... I had 4 people in my freshmen english class... The campus just feels homey
The campus is very inclusive with a true sense of community - it really does feel like another home to me.
The small classes are really nice, the professors do care and have time to engage with their students outside of class. Plus they know your name. Also, the staff really looks out for the student's best interst. There is so much help available academically, anyone who really wants to succeed and takes action, can and will at this school.
The best thing about this school is that the professors really love what they are teaching you. You can tell in their voices how excited they are about their specialty. The general excitement about learning is awesome!
