Quinn

Cameron

Being a local, I remember in high school considering URI to be the fallback for all the townies who had nowhere else to go. It took a lot of convincing from a lot of people that this was actually a good university and worth going to. Now I find the most common stereotypes to be that most kids here are here because their mommies and daddies want them to go to college. URI students are commonly construed as spoiled brats who don't care about academics and only want to party.

Jamie

Mostly from NJ and NY and ruin the atmosphere of the campus

Kelly

Party College

Erica

not sure

Dylan

They drink ALOT, do alot of drugs, and almost always transmit some sort of STD. And alot of out of state applicants get accepted so URI can get more money.

Shelby

People seem to think that URI is all about partying and getting wasted every night. Honestly if thats all you want from school, then URI can provide that. But if you want a good education at a good price, its perfect. URI is what you put into it. And afterall who says you cant party and do well in school.

Lauren

All Jersey people High level of team spirit

Tricia

One major stereotype is that URI is a major party school.

Tim

They're morons, popped-collar rejects that go to the clubs in Providence and pickle their livers every night. More or less the dumbest of the dumb, with the exception of the science people, who are so competitive and stressed that it makes you a little sad to watch. Sunshine and rose petals, basically.

Lindsay

A stereotype about URI is that it is a party school. A stereotype about the students would be that we are all Jersey girls and guys and come from rich families.

Neil

The stereotypes are that this is a second rate school that should be used as a safety school.
