The faculty and students really make this school great. Upon transferring, I found it easy to get involved with clubs and meet people in my program. Everyone is very supportive of one another which makes the classroom and campus an inviting place to be whether you live on campus or commute.

Shaniyah - 01/29/2020

I feel that USJ has really helped me branch out. I came into school a shy girl but am currently a junior who has been networking on and off campus. I became an orientation leader after my first year, joined the honors program, presented at symposium day, I held 3 on campus jobs, played on the women's basketball team and made deans list every semester so far! This year I will also be presenting research at a psychology conference in Boston and a Honors conference in Albany. I also became a middle school girls aau basketball coach and started an off campus job at community mental health affiliates. I do not think that I would have made all the connections or had the opportunities I have if it were not for USJ.

Most professors I have talked to are easy to access and are understanding. There are plenty of options for food in the cafeteria. one of the options for food is someone who cooks and it is personalized to how you want the food. Although I do not think they are that much of an option for people who are vegans.

Toneisha - 07/02/2019

The school did not meet my overall expectations as far as decorum. I was expecting more for the tuition rate. However, the fact that the classroom are intimate and offer more of a personal setting to truly engage with professors I find outweigh the latter disappointment.

One the best things about my school is that the class sizes are very small. The largest lectures we have are of about 50 people. Therefore there is always a way to participate in class discussion and ask questions when things are not understood. In addition my school has a very helpful center for academic excellence and the tutors are extremely helpful in creating study groups and editing papers. This is all free and is very helpful to student who do not really know how to study and teaches in study groups from a different perspective than the teacher.
