University of San Diego Top Questions

What do students complain about most?

Madelyn

Haha this is a funny question. I'll give you two things that we complain about on a more-than-daily basis. 1. Gardening. I think (and I may be wrong so don't cite this) that USD has a special fund for its gardening and plant maintenance and it must pay well because this school is especially manicured. Imagine Disneyland on Aderol. Everything is pristine and perfect and clean and lovely and beautiful and colorful, and perfect... did I say perfect? Literally. The school is immaculate. In fact, we spray paint our grass green. Students tend to complain about this a lot. But let's be serious - it's not a real complaint. 2. Food prices. As a gluten-free individual, I find it extremely refreshing that our university offers a variety of gluten-free products like bagels, breads, pastas and chips. Unfortunately, the prices are RIDICULOUS! Everything is just a bitttt pricy. Especially in the SLP (Student Life Pavilion) where our main dining hall is. We tend to complain about how much money we spend on healthy food, but in all honesty, the food is good. It's nutritious and there are a lot of options if you have food allergies or just a refined palette ;) For example, in the SLP there are different sections: gourmet pizza, a grill that serves fish, burgers, chicken fingers etc, a sushi bar, a salad bar, a Chinese place and a Vietnamese pho area. That doesn't include the freshly prepared alternative salads and dessert bar. The place is insanely nice. Nevertheless, we still complain about the prices.
