The University of Sioux Falls is the small campus that is nestled in the heart of Sioux Falls, SD. There are many walking paths around campus, and the scenery is very pretty to look at in between classes. Most of the teachers genuinely care about the students here. If you are looking for a quiet school with a homey feel, then this is the place for you!
I can think of no better environment for students to grow in than the University of Sioux Falls. Wherever you are in life, USF is there to meet you and help you thrive with multiple opportunities for academic, emotional, and spiritual growth. I am so glad I came to this school and I wish everyone could have the same experience as me!
Overall the University of Sioux Falls is a great college. It has its flaws such as handicap accessibility and gluten free options at the cafeteria, but no college is perfect. University of Sioux falls is very accommodating to many people with multiple needs. Students on this campus have multiple options to participate in extracurricular activities while feeling safe. University of Sioux falls is a great college!
It is a good school that has academics that push your intelligence, and the campus is small enough to get around easy. Also, the campus is very safe. The cafeteria could be better, but the food is not terrible. The sports are a have a huge impact on the schools popularity, and overall I would recommend USF to my friends.

As I stare with tear-swelled eyes at my student loan balance, I wonder if it was all worth it. Had I forgone an education like the one I choose, I may not have learned the law of diminishing returns, the basics of calculus, or how to speak German. But what terrifies me even more is the thought that I may not have learned the most valuable lesson: try new things. I have never been one to stand out from the crowd for fear of being criticized. But these four years have become a whirlwind of new experiences. Had I not tried new things, I would not have discovered my passion for running 10k's and painting, had the opportunity to mentor young girls with running, applied to law school, went out for the school musical, donated 250 meals to the homeless, or interned on the legislature. Those tear-swelled eyes, I realize, are of pride, not frustration. The lesson I have learned to try new things is one that cannot be included in tution prices. It is a lesson that is far more valuable than the number on my student debt statement--one I hope to never forget.
The classmates I have at USF are very fun, hard-working, and intellegent students. They don't give up and they set goals and try to complete them.
close knit atmosphere. almost everyone recognises you.
People who come here generally like sports and close knit communities. Most people here are engaged in a sport or other activity. Also, Christian background is somewhat important to our school, too. Here chapel is not required, but it is a good quality to have because I'd say about 99.7% of people who attend are Christians. Also people who like small class sizes would like our academics. If a person is friendly, most anyone can learn to like USF. Our two big majors are education and business, so that is another thing to look out for.
There are so many things that teachers, parents, and loved ones can tell you to be ready for before you take your first class at college or before your first day in a dorm room but I don't think anyone can really prepare you for college except yourself. I don't think I would want to know anything more than I did before I went to college because I got to experience the unknown in my own way. And my college experience is something that will only happen once--I want it to be something I can remember forever.
I believe the best thing about USF is that with the University being such a small campus the students get more interaction with the teachers and the students feel more obligated to ask questions and not be afraid.
I love the sense of community that USF has. The people, students, staff, and faculty, are all very friendly and pleasant as a whole, and I really feel like they work together to have others around them succeed.
I believe that the worst thing about the school, is the lack of punishments following a student's failure to comply with the rules. With the label of Christian Liberal Arts, USF should uphold the moral backbone in all aspects, but they often fail to step in and reprimand the student properly so the behavior is not repeated.
a christian, well-rounded, positive person.
The Univesiry of Sioux Falls is a place that is focused on comunity; its smalls size allows students to get to know and build relationships with professors and other students on campus, which allows students be more comfortable to ask questions and gain the knowlege in not only thier specific field of study but also in other studies as well.
I must say that the most frustrating thing about the University of Sioux Falls is our recreational facilities. We have a lot of lounges to use, but I have no desire to make use of them. Of the two lounges nearest to me, neither one has functioning DVD players, one has a broken cable jack, and the other only gets 13 channels of cable. If they expect people to want to stay on campus and make use of their facilities then they need to make sure things work to begin with.
Our school is probably best known for our football program. We have won the national championship 3 years in a row now, I believe. A lot of guys that come here are recruited for football. Academicly, our school is most known for producing mass numbers of teachers. There are quite a few elementary education majors that graduate from USF. Our school should be best known for the faculty's attention to students because it is so great. Every professor here is willing to take special time out of their day to make sure you are helped. USF is great!
