The university is very diverse and a great experience for all students and professors. I enjoy spending time with foreign exchange students and helping them get to know the school a little better. In a campus this big, you need to make friends and connections to success and do well in this community.

Good school but nothing really else to do besides classes and going out and drinking. The downtown area is the busiest and if you don't drink theres not a ton more to do.The city itself doesn't have a lot going on unless you drive to Charleston or somewhere else close by.

I have completely adored my experience here at UofSC in my first semester and a half. I grew up in the upstate, not far from Clemson. Because of the proximity, I grew up on that campus and was expected to apply and attend Clemson University my whole childhood. However, I knew I was going to have a business major, and UofSC has one of the best business in the nation, so there was no way I would miss that opportunity! I never toured the school and my first time on campus was during orientation. I completely fell in love with campus, the leaders, and the overall vibe and feel that the school gave off. I genuinely have zero complaints about anything regarding this phenomenal University! Football games, classes, Chicken Finger Wednesday, basketball, classes, greek life (I didn't even rush, but they have amazing opportunities for students to help with fund raising!) and professors are all greater than I could ever imagine.

I love it here. The weather is awesome (coming from New England). Everyone is friendly. I am doing well in my classes. Most teachers explain the class content and I 'get it'. You do have to make time to study, though...which is a personal form of will power. I have a great balance between hanging with friends, going to events and studying. With my 3.75 GPA in a Pre-Med field, it can't get any better! Thumbs Up, USC!

What is your overall opinion of this school?

I have had a wonderful time attending the University of South Carolina. I have thoroughly enjoyed all of my class as well as the overall academic experience. The professors have been informative and helpful, and the facilities like the Darla Moore School of Business are some of the best in the country. Campus life is great at the university. There's an abundance of opportunities for students to get involved and have a great experience outside of the classroom, and I have enjoyed getting involved and using the resources found on campus. I have personally enjoyed attending sporting events like the football, volleyball, soccer, and basketball games. I have also enjoyed using facilities like the Strom Thurmond Fitness Center to stay in shape and meet fellow Gamecocks. I have also enjoyed attending events that the school has provided for the students like concerts and comedy events. Overall, my experience has one of the highlights of my life, and I plan on making many more memories throughout my tenure at the University.

I imagine that trying on the perfect wedding dress is the same feeling as the one I had when I first stepped foot on the Horseshoe, the focal point of the University of South Carolina's campus. I fell in love instantly. From the palm trees in Greek Village to the 85,000 seat Williams-Bryce Stadium I knew it was the perfect place for me and that I would find plenty of people to make memories with during my four years as an undergraduate student. The best parts about the school, in my opinion, are the historic Horseshoe, the top ranked Honors College, the top ranked International Business and Sport/Entertainment management schools, and of course, the weather. It doesn't get much better than 75 degree days in the middle of January! We do, however, need some help in a few areas. Many of our on campus dorms could use some serious remodeling, there is no where near enough parking, and the first year meal plan is pretty ridiculous. Aside from these problems, I couldn't imagine going to any other school. It's a place where you can learn and be yourself but also grow tremendously on a personal and professional level. It may not be for everyone, but it has proven to be the perfect place for thousands of students since 1801.

The campus is really quiet and relaxing. Everyone is friendly. The class-sizes are small, but some are huge. Most of the teachers are nice. Some teachers have no idea what they're teaching. The athletics are awesome. Tuition isn't expensive, but extra fees for certain majors.

University of South Carolina - Columbia is an overall wonderful place to go! With some of the best weather in the country (as long as you don't take summer classes!!), a Northern girl like me loved every second of 80 degrees in December. There are so many academic programs to choose from. There is literally something for everyone. All the teachers I had in years of going loved the subject that they taught about. The best part is that most of them aren't "just teachers" either. They are professionals in their fields who teach because they want to share what they love to do. I never had an awful or unfair teacher. I never had a teacher who didn't seem qualified. I never had a teacher who didn't care whether their students failed or succeeded. Columbia is a fun college town during the spring and fall semesters while all the students are there. There are different areas of downtown, offering everything from art galleries to bars to shopping. And, of course, everyone loves the fair when it comes to town! Football gameday is a BIIIIIGGGGG DEAL at U.S.C. The Gamecocks are like a regional obsession; students and area residents alike flock to the massive stadium and rock the house with their cheers. In years of going, nothing about U.S.C. ever left me disappointed or wishing I had chosen another University. I even went to a much smaller University before transferring to U.S.C. and trust me - smaller wasn't better. There are thousands and thousands of students at U.S.C., but the academic programs are so diverse that once you are in your program all the teachers know you individually and personally. Everyone cares about your success. You definitely are NOT just a number. To anyone looking for a great University, with great choices, interesting coursework, reasonable tuition prices, and great weather choose University of South Carolina - Columbia. You'll never be disappointed for sure!

The University of South Carolina has provided me already with so many amazing opportunities, and has led me to meet some awesome new people, from fellow students to faculty. Food is good, as are facilities, and the staff works hard to upkeep the campus.

I think it's a great institution that gives every student a chance to succeed. USC provides the resources and opportunities for success and it's up to each student to take advantage of it. I feel that this school has set me up for a very prosperous career and has opened many opportunities for me.
