People who do not like small towns should steer clear of this school, because it is the embodiment of a small-town college. Also, people with more liberal political views probably shouldn't attend either.

A person who doesn't like a campus that is wide spread (buildings wise).

Those without serious intent learning need not apply. One cannot just go through the motions and get by at this university.

Individuals that are not used to a diverse group of races, ethnicities, sexual orientation, etc. We have many students that are different and unique, including international students.

Individuals who are interested in univerisity with large class diverse sizes.

A person that wants to attend a big school with big-time athletics should not attend USC Upstate.

A person who is an indivivual, and who enjoys a challenge, a person open to many different religions and ethnicities, and who is open minded.

The type of person who shouldn't attend this college is one who is not willing to do what it takes to succeed. Even though the professor work really hard to help students they can only do so much the rest is left to the student. In order to succeed at this college one must be prepared to do all the required work as well as be willing to participate in order to make it ahead.

Specifically for the nursing program, someone who is so Type A that they cannot deal with extreme chaos and disorganization. Another type who should not attend is the student who has no desire/motivation to study and apply themselves to learning. This is also not a big party school, so partiers need not apply.

A person not interested in taking their education seriously at a great four year university.

This is a wonderful school. Everyone fits in.

The environment on this campus doesn't support racism, sexism, or any other intolerance of the students' diversity. Persons with little tolerance should not attend this school. Because this campus is small, the resources are somewhat limited for certain departments; students looking for a medium-sized school will do well here, but anyone looking for a large school with well-known athletic teams would not be satisfied here.
