Why did you decide to go to this school?

Jennifer

I decided to go here because my dad moved to Florida and this was my best choice school. It was close to my dad, its a nice campus, and it had my major which are all important.

I opted to go to USF because of its excellent Medical programs and research. I researched for over a year and a half in the College of Medicine and it really opened my eyes to the world of academia and medicine more than I could have ever expected. Also, being from the Sarasota, FL area, it is relatively close to home so I can travel back and see my puppy every once in a while! :)

I decided to go to this school for several reasons. First, it was a very welcoming campus; staff, students, and faculty alike were always readily available to answer questions and provide guidance. Second, it is a great research institution, rated among the top in Florida. Third, it is surrounded by hospitals and research centers that have built collaborations over the years with the university and allow undergraduates to shadow volunteer, and even intern (my major is biology, and I would like to go to medical school, so you can imagine my excitement when I found out about this). Fourth, it is a very diverse campus. There is over 40,000 students, all from different regions of the world. Last, but not least, it was also close to home and I could save money on room and board by living with my parents.

The University of South Florida has been my number one pick for as long as I can remember for many reasons. First of all it my mothers Alma Mater, when i was younger I use to take trips to campus with my mom while she was taking classes. My goal in the future is to become a doctor and USF is in the middle of everything health, USF even has its own College of Medicine! Right across the street there is the Florida Hospital, Veterans hospital, 100's of different medical offices, veterinary offices, anything you need you got it. I am also in love with Tampa, Florida, I have lived here for 13 years and can absolutely say that its an amazing city full of life, diversity, and promise.
