In the instructors I have had the fortune of studying under, I have discovered zeal to teach and strong belief in what they are doing. I have never been more open to becoming an instructor than after the last couple years at the University of St. Thomas. After experiencing the affect they have had on me I would be honored to affect another person in that way.

Elizabeth

The spirit. St. Thomas really encourages spirit and has a lot of spirit oriented events. Also, I like that it's a smaller school. Many of my friends are at larger schools and have classes with 300+ people. My largest class is 60 people and I know most of them. I like that I can put names to faces, and that my professors know who I am.

Jessica

The University of Saint Thomas is very unique, mostly due to the Christian basis of the campus and of the incredible academics. There is a seminary, chapel, and multiple Christian organizations and clubs that are readily available on campus. I am currently involved in a Bible Study, Gospel Choir, and a worship service called Ignite. Also, the class sizes are quite small, which provides an excellent education for students as a result of the individual attention that is able to be provided. It is a very safe and clean campus, with many wonderful activities to participate in.

Jenny

The most unique thing about our school is being able to go to downtown Minneapolis whenever needed or wanted for leisure. Not only are you able to grocery shop at Target but also shop downtown at Nicolett Mall or take the light rail to Mall of America. This factor allows students to have the sense of feeling of being "on their own," which is great! In addition, the architectural design of our buildings and the history behind the school definitely shines as you enroll into the school and live on campus.

Nathalie

St. Thomas is just the right size. The profs really care about you and are genuine. All my profs know all the students' name and can actually talk after class and during class without any confusion.

Annie

We really focus on making the school feel like we are one big community. There are many clubs and organizations you can get involved in. Professors know you by your first name.

Kerry

It has a great study abroad program , also this school was a lot smaller than the other schools I had considered, which I was more familiar to, because of my high shcool.

Xue

I will say that, what make this college unique is the professors. They know what they are doing by teaching in a way that will help the students understand the subjects and learns. Along with the time the professor have after class to help answer the students question. Another things that makes this school cool. It is constantly helping promote diversity here to bring in people of color to make the campus a place where students can leran about other type of culture.

Michael

They are Division 3 for athletics. I would have rather gone to a school with a Division 1 level of sports, but in the whole scheme of things, it doesn't really matter. If you want to get a good education, this is a good school for it, but the "college feel" disappears with the nonexistence of legitimate school spirit derived from things such as atheletics and social events.

Joe

Smaller class sizes. Great interaction with professors.

Stephanie

I think the Catholic Studies Department is unique, it is the first Catholic Studies Department in the country. The community that is formed within this department is amazing. I am challenged daily in my classes. I am a Catholic Studies major and a Psychology minor. I am challenged to seek the truth in all of my classes. The teacher's within the Catholic Studies department, want to challenge you, and help you to learn. I know that when I graduate I will walk away with an excellent education.

Andrew

My school is catholic and every professor has at least a doctorate in their field, which is advantageous because they are also great at relating the course to us. There are also many activities everyday at a smaller school resulting in knowing a larger percent of your classmates.

Nhi

There are many special things about the University of St. Thomas, but the one thing that makes this school unique is its unity. It is so amazing how this school has many programs, events and clubs to make everyone feel welcome. During my first week, I immediately felt welcomed because the people here would come up and talk to me and let me be apart of what they were doing. It is great how every week, there is always something new and an interesting activity to take part in. That is the the most unique thing about St. Thomas.

Clayton

Big location in terms of population and urban setting but the school and class sizes are relatively small.

Katie

This school is in the nation's top ten for study abroad programs. UST offers a variety of courses abroad and nationally, and if they do not have a specific program, students can design their own and work with other schools in Minnesota. They are also reasonable priced. As far as private schools go, UST has a large amount of majors and minors available (90+ majors). Students can also take classes at Hamline, St. Cate's, Macalester, and Augsburg.

Samantha

My School has a catholic envirnoment to go along with being catholic in name. It has great community and great professors. It has only professors teaching. It is also in the big city but does not have the big city feel. It allows for people from everywhere to come and find a place to feel at home. It also allows for many great opportunities that go alone with the big city.

Clare

Its Catholic Tradition is incredibly unique and it can offer a refreshing perspective on many current events.

Alison

The location is great! We have our own little community that is right in the heart of the city. Which makes it great and flexible for any type of student. There are many small buisnesses surrounding the campus that students get involvled with.

Dominic

Beautifil location in a beautiful city.

Erika

There is a really lively Catholic community here if you want it, but it's not shoved down your throat if you aren't interested. The location is also really nice. St. Paul is a great city with lots to do, and so is Minneapolis which is nearby. The campus is very picturesque and right on the Mississippi River.

Kirk

It was a smaller school. This school offered d3 sports, so I had to decided whether I wanted to keep doing sports or not, but deciding to keep doing sports in college was the best decision I could of made.

Meghan

St. Thomas is unique in the way our campus is set up. We have the same set schedule Tuesdays and Thursdays and the same on Monday Wednesday and Fridays, whereas bigger univeristies seem to be all over the place. We have a huge number and variety of different clubs, sports and intramurals that anyone can join here. There are always ways to get involved and there are always activities and events occurring during the week and on weekends; many include free food!

Morgan

Its much smaller than the other schools I considered, but I really enjoy that aspect!

Lindsey

*GO TO UST* Everyone that I know LOVED it there. You feel safe and like you are working toward something. You're definitely not a number at UST at all. AND THEY SET YOU UP WITH AMAZING WORK OPPORTUNITIES WHEN YOUR DONE! *Myself and my friends all have jobs even after JUST graduating.... THANKS UST!

Philip

It has a very heavy emphasis on business which makes for a great business school. It provides stuedents with a in depth look in the business world. Also, it has a wide variety of business majors and allows for students to learn quite a bit about business and how to get a job.

Emily

The atmosphere of the campus is very warm. It small, yet big enough. It gives you a sense of home when you are on campus. The professors are very engaging in helping the students.

Laine

The small community makes it so easy to meet people and stay friends with them. The campus is small enough where you see the same eople all the time, and always have someone to eat lunch with. The professors know you by name and always take notice when something is going wrong in your life. They want you to succeed and push you in that direction by giving you information on internships and jobs. They also get you connected with alumni

Annemarie

Small classes. Anyone who is interested in entering the business world after graduation would be well taken care of at St. Thomas. The classes are small, so your professors can focus on you and your personal achievement.

Ruth

I'm not sure, probably the percentage hired after graduation.

Bjorn

It's a lot more religious and conservative. The academics are not that strong. It excels in business and the campus is pretty.

Grant

The freedom to get involved in anything you want.

Sarah

The grass is exceptionally green on campus, but only in the very literal sense.
