University of the Pacific Top Questions

UOP is really something else when compared to other universities. Whether that's becasue it's a private school, or a small campus, I'm not sure; it really is a gem of Stockton. Here, professors can actually remember your name. They take the time to learn who you are, and because of that, they are able to help you more efficiently if you need it. Also, communicating with other students is not as difficult as it can be at other schools. Whether it be for work or for some down time, you will have fellow students on your side.

Pacific is unique because it provides a close knit environment for students. The class sizes make class more interesting and interactive because of the small sizes. The professors know your name, and go out of their way to help students, they are there to teach and not to make students fail. They are also very flexible and GUARENTEE graduation in 4 years. Pacific also provides a variety of resources for students including tutors, study rooms, access to online databases, writing centers, and student and faculty advisors to keep you on track.

This is the perfect place to obtain a wonderful education and make some really good friends

Very small school where I believe was an advantage.

The University of the Pacific may be smaller than most schools, but it is fierce. It guarentees an undergraduate degree in four years (as long as you stay on track, of course.) Its campus is the fifth most beautiful college campus. Pacific's programs involve getting out into the real world. Teachers get to student teach, engineers work on projects; it is a very active school. There are always things going on campus, and a person could never feel left out. Pacific is very unique.

What grabbed my interest in this particular school is the Co-op or paid internship program which was integrated within the engineering program. This allowed engineering students to gain hands-on experience working in the industry. The industrial experience allows a great leverage in finding a job after college.

There are smaller classes here and a smaller campus so you are not just a number but a person who the professors and the deans get to know on a personal level.

Our class sice is extremely small about 20 students per class. Our professors are always helpful and friendly. The faculty and staff are always ready to help in anyway.

I believe that the University of the Pacific is more of an academic school than any other college. When students go off to college, some of them expect to go to frat parties, or just parties in general. At University of the Pacific there aren't too many parties that go on here which makes students want to focus more on their studies.

The school allows for fast programs like for pharmacy and dentistry and University of the Pacific also is smaller and allows for colser bonds with classmates on campus.

Pacific's undergraduates are only about 3200 students. The campus is big yet small enough to walk from the north side to the south in about 5 minutes. So you get to know almost everyone from your area of study. We have a very beautiful campus, and many brand new buildings including the new University Center and a new Biological Sciences Building. Currently, a new IT building is being constructed. Even though it may seem like this university is expensive, and it is, you will receive more financial aid compared to state schools. If you live in California, and are eligible for a Cal Grant, Pacific will match it.

Pacific is very poor at communicating with its students about what is going on on campus. It is not rare to find out about an event after it happens. There is no definite emailing system in place and many events go unattended simply because no one knows about them. Pacific is stuck in the last century with posting fliers all over campus instead of using organized technologic systems.

I went to Pacific for a very specific program- Music Management. I found that the combination of small classes with professors that I became very familiar with over 4 years really gives students the best training in this field at any school outside of Los Angeles. And when you graduate there is a great career center that can help you with your resume, job search and interview techniques, etc.

I believe that the greek life at this school is much more available to students then at other schools. THe greek life at this school is well- organized and it comprises more than 50{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c} of the whole entire school. THere are many leadership positions available when it also comes to greek life. Professors are close to their students and help them when they can.

I was able to know exactly what I was going to do with my career when I graduated college because it was a professional program.

My school provided the best program to obtain my Pharmacy degree. The second reason would be the amount of money they offered me to attend.

The campus itself is unique. It has lovely gardens and buildings. They offer numerous classes that will help in career choices or current jobs. Te staff is open and easily accessible. The professors tend to care about the students and encourage feedback.

Small classes, students that want to learn, small school in comparison to others, close to home, in a fairly good neighborhood, walking distance to stores and houses/apartments, ample on-campus housing, free gym, school sponsered activities.
