What is your overall opinion of this school?

The school is pretty good at academics, has some tough courses, which are easier in other schools not as happening, but very diversified and helpful towards International students.

Making a decision to come to this school was one of the best decisions I've ever made. They've helped me a lot

I love the University of Toledo! There's a lot of pride in being a Rocket among the student body. I think that the school size is just right for me--it's a big school, but none of my classes are too big, and the number of people who go there isn't intimidating. Most of the dining hall food is less than spectacular, but there are a few places on campus where I love to eat.

I am very happy with my choice for picking the university of Toledo. I have been to the orientation and it was organized and got all the information I need to start my journey. The staff was very helpful and are willing to help students in everything.

Overall, I have a good opinion of my school. I've had some really great professors who really care about my success. However, the administration at UT is really crappy - especially the upper administrations. They make ridiculous amounts of money and are generally bad at their jobs. UT has great school spirit and a lot of opportunities if one is willing to search for them. If I could change anything, I would change the upper administration. I believe that a series of bad decisions on their part has altered the quality of the institution and brought us to financial trouble. Toledo is not exactly a "college town." Efforts are being made to change this, but I'm not optimistic. Most of my time on campus is spent in class or at work. Random fact about UT: University Hall is one of the best examples of collegiate gothic architecture in the United States. The most frequent student complaint is that we are not given a choice and neither are the majority of the faculty.

Organizations are huge on our campus. Many of the students opt to be involved in the over 200 student run organizations we have. Most things on campus are completely student created and run. Most students take an active part in our campus.

UT is growing as a wonderful university. With the renovations to many of the outdated buildings has re-vamped the impage of UT as an old campus to the campus of the future. Although UT is lacking at the sporting world, but with the new football coach the football is heading into the right direction, which will hopefully attract new and exciting talent to the football field.

The best thing about UT is the freedom given on campus. There is a ton of things to do there, and as such, students are rarely bored.

Emily

One thing I would change is to make the surrounding area for college student friendly. We need a classier night life in the Toledo area in general, but especially surrounding the University. My opinion on UT's administration is slowly changing given the recent lay off's, but for the most part they have been extremely helpful to me, especially when I transferred from California.

The best thing about UT are the people. Honestly the people that you meet here will change your life forever. I love Greek life here at Toledo. Its been one of the best things in my life. The size is just right. It isnt too big like an OSU but still is larger so that everyone doesnt know your life and all that it entails like in high school. Most of the time spent on campus is in the library or union. There isnt like a central HOT SPOT if you ask me. Toledo is NOT a college town. It needs to be. I dont think the city really takes it seriously. The city of Toledo would be NOTHING without UT here. UT's admin is now getting kinda sketchy ( there is a lot that happening just within a 24 hour period). The schools biggest thing is layoffs... money.... and retention. School pride is kinda lacking... like people do not wear UT gear like they do other schools like OSU and Michigan.

Something that I love about the University of Toledo is the diversity. There are so many programs that cater to so many different types of people. For example the Latino Student Union and the Muslim Student Association. These groups come together for a lot of events and this helps everyone learn about different cultures and customs. It gives people exposure to things that they otherwise would not have know existed. One thing that I would change about the school is the surrounding area. I know that takes a lot, but I would like there to be a few more things for students out and around campus. Like a bowling alley or laser tag. Simple things that are inexpensive that students can do and have a great time. I believe that campus is taking the steps to do this though. I see the University purchasing a lot of property around the area and hopefully they will be using the land to expand student activities.

The actual size of UT’s student population seems to be just right. From class sizes to campus events, comfortable amounts of people are always present. I believe that there is somewhat of a negative image associated with UT because of the area surrounding it. The campus community, in my opinion, is completely different from the area around it, much like many other colleges. I wish that more of the Toledo community felt a bond with the campus, not just faculty and staff. To many members of the Toledo community, UT is viewed as just another business and sometimes as a completely separate city.

UT is growing as a wonderful university. With the renovations to many of the outdated buildings has re-vamped the impage of UT as an old campus to the campus of the future. Toledo is home as the leader in solar energy and with the idea of the new renewable energy college located at the Scott Park Campus will generate tons of new jobs, careers, and majors to UT. Although UT is lacking at the sporting world, but with the new football coach the football is heading into the right direction, which will hopefully attract new and exciting talent to the football field.

I've visited a vast amount of campuses throughout the state of Ohio, but UT was the one that stood out to me. The campus is just amazing to walk through. Another good quality is the size of the campus. Even though there is not a great amount of parking, which can be a problem at any campus, you are able to park and walk to your classes without it being such a hassle. And if you're not a walker, then you can take the shuttle. The University of Toledo consists of three campuses. The main campus holds classes for almost all majors at the university. The Scott Park campus is less than a mile away from main campus and makes room for more classes to be taught. Then there is the Health Science campus which just merged with the Medical College of Ohio and is now named the UT Medical Center. The HSC campus holds classes for majors such as nursing and medicine. The Greek Life on campus is not as big as I have seen on other campuses, which for some of you... you may be very pleased to hear that. I am! UT does have 30 different sororities and fraternities though. Overall, I regret not spending all four years here at UT, but I sure am glad that I get to grauate from such a wonderful college.
