University of Washington-Seattle Campus Top Questions

What's the most frustrating thing about your school?

Riley

It can be hard to find friends or a community for yourself, especially is you're from a small town and aren't used to such a huge place. But the worst worst thing is that 75{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c} of the prof's have difficulty using their own technology/laptops, or the classroom technology - so often the first 10-15 minutes of a class is spent waiting for tech support, or for someone in class to go up and help the teacher.

Jennifer

Most frustrating thing about the school is that some of the 100 level classes have hundreds of students in them, so it's difficult to receive one-on-one attention.

Ngoc

Unclear grading and curving in classes.

Andrew

Calculus, the three classes needed to complete the seriers are the hardest three classes I have ever taken in my life. If your not good at math these classes are gonna kill you.

Nadya

The lack of student willingness to make friends. I have struggled with making friends, coming from a caribbean - muslim background, its hard to find people accepting of me. Most students I run into are white or asian. I feel out of place in class, just because I am different and people aren't that sociable in class... and I have tried attending on campus events to make friends - and people tend to stick with their clicks and it's difficult to get people to be receptive. People are just too busy with class work to make new friends I guess.

Rachael

That our football team didn't win a single game this past season.

Elizabeth

The fact that so many things aren't acutally owned by the school (such as the on campus housing and even the performing arts hall). It makes it frustrating because they don't recieve funding from the state, so everything is even more expensive than it has to be.

Jeff

That I can't find a close group of friends.

Christine

The most frustrating thing about the University of Washington would be that every student here was the top of their class in high school and it is hard to realize that now I am not the smartest person in my class.

Jennifer

If you don't make an effort to make friends, it won't happen. You have to put yourself out there, which can be hard, but if you do it you can make amazing friends.

Amy

registering for the classes i need

Mariko

Not being able to get the classes I need when I need them. Not having the classes I need offered at the right quarters.

Ada

The price: it feels like I'm getting ripped off for all the textbooks. Also, housing and food is extremely expensive, but the food is not good!

Logan

The most frustrating thing about my school (and I believe most other colleges) is that college students still aren't quite old enough to realize alcohol is a horrible thing.

Westley

The most frusterating thing about my school is that it is very quiet during the weekends despite being a very large campus. The amount of activities that are available during the weekend are relatively low, which I believe leads to more students drinking alcohol. My friends and I are also frustrated with the fact that students must have a dining plan if they live on campus. I believe this allows the school to have lower quality food available because they will make the money regardless of student satisfaction.

Sabrina

The large campus and having only ten minutes to get to class on time.

Kristiana

The greek system's huge presence in the social life 30{4a082faed443b016e84c6ea63012b481c58f64867aa2dc62fff66e22ad7dff6c} of the students is frustrating to me because the people involved in these organizations are very cliquey and homogenous.

Dianna

Most of intro classes are so big that the professor doesn't even recognize who you are. On top of it, its so hard to get into a class you want during registration

Chris

It gets pretty quiet on the weekend.

David

The most frustrating thing about the school is it averages about 500 per every undergraduate class.

Mira

its too hard

Jason

I think the most fustrating part is registration in the school. Classes fill up earlier and is based on seniority. Students are then required to go into clas to get add codes or wait for other students to drop the class. There is also no wait list system. Counlsor are not much help durring registration neither.
