So glad I transferred! The dorms may have there downsides but they are way better then some other campuses. Class sizes are pretty decent, and are fairly easy to get into. Professors are even willing to help you get into one of there classes with just an email being sent to them!
Great school and great professors!
I first attended a two year school and then transfered to the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay. I am about to finish my first year at UW Green Bay and I have loved every minute of it. The students here all have the same goal, and that is to achieve excellence both inside and outside of the classroom while supporting our fellow students. Students are always supporting eachother whether or not it is peer tutoring, studying together, showing up to sporting events or even performances of the arts. This school also goes above and beyond when it comes to events being hosted. In my one year at this school I've attended concerts, late night arts and crafts, fitness activities, and so much more. There is something for everyone, no matter what they are interested in. This school truely feels like a home away from home for me and I could not imagine a better place for me to continue my education.
Well I go to school online and with my experiences so far I haven't had too much of a problem. Everyone has been very nice and helpful. If I run into a problem It is easy to contact my professors to help me through it. Other students have been very helpful and encouraging when I get discouraged with my studies. My academic adviser has been very helpful in helping me choose the right classes that would benefit me as I work toward my major.
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for University of Wisconsin-Green Bay is 73%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.
So far, I've met quite a few new people.
I think that the best thing about my school is that the professors are really open to their students. They care and are willing to help their students when and if they need it.
Once again, the fact that you have to drive to get anywhere because it is so secluded. We are trying to be a green campus, so it's frustrating that students have to drive to do anything "off campus."
The University of Wisconsin Green Bay is known and respected for the three T's: Trees (beautiful forested campus), Tunnels (underground hallways that connect all of the academic buildings together), and Toilets (all of the oncampus housing, including the oldest dorms have their own private bathrooms).
The dorms were not connected to the main building by the underground tunnels that all the other buildings were connected by. With the extreme wind in Green Bay this would be a good thing to help get to class because once you get to the buildings you don't have a locker to put your winter stuff in.
This school was close to home, I got to keep my jobs and stay at home my first semester.
My classmates are silly, crazy when stressed, always stressed, and above all interesting.
Anyone who wants a sense of community, but still wants to experiece a small city should attend this college.
I wish I would have known that pretty much everyone goes home over the weekends (every weekend).
UWGB has a smaller campus and everything is close together. Also, the amount of students that attend UWGB is very low compared to other 4 year colleges. The class sizes here are generally very small excluding the popular introductory lectures like psychology and biology that are needed for the general education requirements.
My school is best known for its beautiful, green campus. The setting is so relaxed and calm. It's so peaceful and quiet, and there's so much green space. The school is also environmentally friendly in many ways. Some of the floors are made from recycled materials.
A person should not attend this school if they are looking to live in a big city or close to town. UWGB is a more secluded school and isn't near the inner parts of the actual city. Green Bay is not a large city either.
If you like small schools UWGB is the perfect place for you. In every single class I've had as a student here, I've gotten to know my professors on a personal level that just isn't possible at other schools. The professors here care about you and your needs as a student and are always very helpful.
There are tons of chances to get involved at UWGB. My personal favorite club/organization is Phoenix Pep Band. We play at all of the home basketball (Men's and Women's). Its a great opportunity to have fun while showing school spirit at the same time.
I also love the on-campus housing here. The residence halls are very nice, and the on-campus apartments are even better! Not to mention, we have toilets. :) Most of my time spent on campus would probably be spent at the University Union. In the Union, you'll find the Cafeteria, Grill, Phoenix Bookstore, and even a Bank. There is also a coffee house with lots of comfy chairs and great music. I love studying there.
