For me it the perfect size, especially since I am came from such a small town. Even though it is the third largest campus, the class sizes are not that big. The professors are so easy to talk to and helpful when you don't understand something.

Unfortunetly, UW Oshkosh is widely known for drinking and parties. That is the first thing that comes to mind when people think of Oshkosh, those are people who do not attend this school and work diligently through the rigorus courses in the difficult journey to complete their education here. Personally, I think this is a very negative title that has stuck to Oshkosh and clung for far too long. I would like to see a new, and more positive title for Oshkosh in the near future.

Our school has very well-known nursing and journalism programs. Furthermore, our school has started a revolutionary freshman program called the University Studies Program. Freshmen students take classes that we would have to take anyway, and they are put in a class of 25 or less, rather than pit classes. There are three questions students must answer throughout three semesters in the USP program. These questions are in regards to sustainability, intercultural knowledge, and civic learning. These questions help students apply knowledge they learn in regular general education classes to their own futures.

My school is known best for students having a drinking problem. Many students are put on academic probation due to excessive drinking. Drinking is a problem, one that many people face. But the problem here is when students do not face their drinking problem. When begining at a university it is important to understand that one needs to balance recreactional activities with their academic studies. Academic probation is a serious problem that no student wants to face their first semester of college, so no matter how many parties their are most nights should be spent studying, not partying at college.

Oshkosh is best known for its sustainability efforts. It is one of the top green campuses in the United States and everyone seems to like that. The other college is the college of Letters and Sciences, which also has some competitive and well known programs that it offers. It is also well known for the goal of being "green" or sustainable and eco-friendly. UWO has done many things in order to keep that goal alive through building standards, recycling programs, etc.

My school offers many options for a range of students. Everyone form high school graduates to later in life learners, there is a program. Each program is catered to the individual student's need. The advisors, especially for continued learning students like myself, are always available and allow you to keep your courseload flexible. Students are offered many opportunites to enrich their college experience. I think the communication between the advisors, professors, officials, student services and other students is outstanding.

We do not have any teacher's assistants, so all of the information comes directly from the professor. The professors here also make a point of being available to students through scheduled office hours and email.
