University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Top Questions

What's the most frustrating thing about your school?

Christina

Finding time to make sure all school work is completed.

Lorelei

You could call my school "po-dunk", if you'd like. While we're a college with a small city, we're surrounded by farms and forests; essentially, the middle of nowhere. Boredom is the soul-sucking con of this area, and there really isn't much to do if you're not an outdoorsy person. However, you do learn to appreciate nature with the forest preserve close by, and waking up to the sounds of birds chirping in the morning and the wind rustling through the trees instead of rumbling cars or wailing sirens in your dorm.

Jessica

The most frustrating thing about my school would have to be how awfully cold if gets in the winter. Since the campus is so small and accessible everyone walks; there is really no reason to use other modes of transportion. This is quite frustrating in the winter because it gets so unbearably cold, but you still have to walk. Also, the school rarely, if ever, closes the campus down or cancels classes, so even in the bone-chilling dead of winter, you have to face the cold.

The most frustrating thing about University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point is really nothing. The only thing that ever really bothers me is registration for courses but it's probably just as frustrating here as it is at any other university where you get into some classes and not into others. Nothing else really bothers me which is awesome.

Hannah

In the art department it is a little more difficult to get by, especially financially. Other than that, I really like the school.

Katelyn

There is run around you can get when dealing with administrative problems, being signing up for classes, business, or financial aid problems. No one wants to take the time to figure it out with you, and would rather pass the buck to someone else. I love the small class sizes but its also a double edged sword sometimes becuase then you only have one option to get a class in and if it has conflicts then you might have to wait up to two full years in order to take that class again.

Nathan

The most frustrating thing about UWSP is printing homework and having to turn in hard copies of an assignment along with turning it in online.

Simin

Professors at UWSP are not very organized. Some classes have most of their work online, which can be difficult when you need to ask questions.

Rachel

For me, there isn't a most frustrating thing about UW-Stevens Point. We have amazing food, the campus is the perfect size for a small-town girl like me, the classes have been challenging and personally I like a challenge, my professors have been great especially if you need help outside of the classroom, Stevens Point is a great town to be in, our athletics are fun to watch. I have yet to come across something that has truely frustrated me about my school.

Sarah

I'm a conservative republican and the most frustrating thing is all the intense liberals at my school. Our school has many liberals who are constantly speaking their opinion and getting in your face about it. It is very annoying.

Shannon

During hunting season everyone goes home to hunt so there are not a lot of people there on the weekends.

Amber

If I were to shed knowledge on myself as a high school senior about college, I would stress just how different it is from high school and how important time managment is. In college, my amount of free time has nearly tripled. However, the difficulty level hasis much higher because i am expected to do the majority of learning on my own. this means that the majority of my free time must be spent in self learning and study time.

Kelly

The most frustrating thing is that I HAVE to choose a meal plan while I am living on campus.

Samantha

The most frustrating thing about the University of Wisconsin- Stevens Point is that classes are rarely cancelled for sub-zero temperatures. The cold temperatures makes it very difficult to get the motivation to go to class and very difficult to get to class. The cold temperatures make the relatively short walk from the campus dorms to campus brutle. It is frustrating that the school will not put a limit on how cold it can be before they cancel classes. Sometimes the temperatures can reach 40 to 45 degrees below zero. That is very cold for walking students.

Craig

The most frusturating thing about my school is the lack of opportunity for financial aid. I am from a white middle class family and I'm financially independent of them but I still have problems getting financial aid because of their socieconomic status, not mine.

Riley

Financial aid and job outlook on campus for people who do not have work study

Daniel

Sometimes the professors, but not usually.

Randy

Balancing social life and studies. People here are very focused with grades and since money is a big thing here, you need scholarships. Thats where giving up a little of you social life comes in. It is worth it in the long run and you will have friends for life; its just a little strenuious.

April

I wasn't challeneged enough.

Kaleena

Even though it is a natural resources campus and 'paperless' there is a lot of paper waste.

Dawn

The huge emphasis on drinking and partying. It's not the worst thing, but UWSP does have a drinking issue and if you're not really a drinker it can be frustrating when 'the square' downtown is the most interesting place to hang out. It also happens to have a lot of bars in one square block.

Daniel

Paying for school is the most frustrating thing to me. Not being able to have a job due to the work load hinders my ability to make payments.

Marques

Parking!!!

Chelsea

the security systems is too much.
