I did two online courses with this school and had such negative experience. I read the negative reviews prior to starting, I doubted most of the reviews , and proceeded because the tuition was cheaper than most colleges. There is no student support like they mention, and the Smart Thinking Tutor that they use is a waste of time.I used it multiple times to assist with assignments, and the work they assisted me with was incorrect. Their process is complicated, even for a simple thing as registering for class, there's many steps to follow and they have to email you a code for you to register. Even after you pay off the tuition, they delay updating your billing statement to reflect $0 balance. I have tuition reimbursement through my job, and I would always have to call their Financial Aid office to update my billing statement so I can provide it to my employer. The only thing this college made easy for you to do, is making payments, go figure. I pass both classes, but still changing school.

I like it there. It's a very small campus which is nice. The teachers are always happy to help and so are the staff. They have plenty of activities for the students on campus. The food is okay. It could use some variety. But it's still good. The bathrooms in the dorm halls are always dirty. Especially the toilets. We go days without hand soap or paper towels. There are plenty of places to study/do work.

Utica College FAQS

  1. What is the Acceptance Rate at Utica College?

The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Utica College is 81%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

I would look at every college and compare prices, living arrangements and availability to hospitals and such. I would talk to students already going to the colleges and see what they have to say about their lives on campus and off. Find or hire someone who can explain the finances to you, unless you already know how everything works. Trust me when I say though, that you really do not know all the ins and outs of college finances. If you do become depressed about any financial situation, talk to someone about it. Try and do any and all scholarships because they will save you a lot of trouble. Make sure you know what you want to do with your life at least by your Junior year. Have fun and stay safe. Always remember that what you do in college could effect what you do for life. So, choose wisely and make sure you know what you are getting yourself into.

  4. What's the one thing you wish someone had told you about freshman year?

For starters, I absolutely wish that when my high school teachers told us as students that professors weren't going to prepare notes on the blackboard or overheard for us, I believed them. I wish that I had known that buying snowboots was actually a neccesity. I wish I knew that keeping a pet fish isn't as easy as it sounds. But, most importantly, I wish that I had known before I came to school that everything was going to be okay. I was going to make it. I was going to survive it. I could do it.
