Sometimes I feel as if I shouldn't have chosen Valpo, but then I realize there's no place I'd rather be. The small class sizes really engage you, and though I'm introverted, I feel like I wouldn't learn better anywhere else. Everyone is friendly, including the teachers. It's a great place to go to school.

I love Valpo- the instructors are accessible, encouraging and friendly. My classes are challenging and tutoring is available at no cost if needed. Valpo cares about their students and provides us with plenty of fun activities as well as quiet places to study. The support staff is also great, going the extra mile to answer any questions we might have. I consider myself fortunate to be here!

Valpo is overall an amazing place! Between the city of Valparaiso and the university itself, there is plenty of recreational activities available. The campus has something going on all the time. There are movies (lights, camera, action)shown almost every weekend, sporting events (Go Crusaders!), parties, concerts(and theater!), and free food (yumm). There is something for everyone. The class sizes are small--my largest class so far has been 30 students--and the professors truly care about their students. The classes are challenging but not overwhelming; however, it is important to manage your time and seek help when you need it. The college has so many recourses and professors are always willing to help you out. Office hours are preferable but they will always help at any time if asked. My fellow students are great people! To describe them in one word, they are genuine. The people at Valpo are truly genuine people. They are driven, compassionate, and charismatic. Everyone is willing to help others out and have some fun while working hard. There is really nothing bad about Valpo. At Valpo, everyone can be themselves and college is truly what you make it.

Valparaiso University and town is a lively place but, luckily, students still manage to find quiet places to study. There are parties to go to and downtown to explore. It’s especially nice during the holidays with decorations and an ice-skating rink. There is a lot of room to run around and the school holds events students and residents can partake in. Class sizes are decent - my smallest class was 20 students and largest was 55. Dorm rooms are nice, but there have been some complaints, like slow internet or bugs.

There are so many opportunities to find something that you like to do. There are so many people that are ready to make you their friend. My experience there so far has been amazing!

Valparaiso University is very prestigious. It is extremely safe. The staff make everyone feel welcomed and comfortable. Everything is in walking distance, which is convenient. The main cafe closes at 7 or 8 pm depending on the day, which sucks, because the smaller cafe has minimum choices.

As a freshman, I detested this university. I am originally from California, so coming here was a big shock to me. I wanted to transfer to a different university as a freshman, but didn't have sufficient credits, so I was forced to stay at this university paying a tuition that was ridiculously priced. I said to myself, "If I have to stay at this university, I am going to do what my heart is telling me to do." So, I studied abroad in Paris for an entire year, and there, found my passion and calling for political science. It has made coming back to this university a bit easier. Now that I know that I want to be the US Ambassador to France (it's an appointed position, so it will take me some time to reach this goal), and a professor of political science in France, things are clearer for me and being at this university is not as difficult. This is a good place to study if you know what you want to do. That way, you'll be supported by faculty just as motivated and interested in that domain, you'll have opportunities to start clubs or organisations. For example, I noted after coming back from France to Valpo that we didn't have a political news section for VUTV (Valparaiso University TV) or a political news section for the weekly university newspaper, The Torch. Now, I am the director/founder of the political news section for VUTV and the political specialist for The Torch (I have one page a week to share political information). Things are possible at this university, but one must be motivated, outgoing and innovative if s/he wishes to make a difference. But, the world is like that. So, being at Valpo is a great place to practice.

Students and staff here are so kind. I felt welcome immediately and I knew it was the school for me. They have a 5 year psych master's program which interested me most but I was worried about not being "religious" enough. Valpo does not push religion onto students and I love that about this school!

Valparaiso University is an excellent school. I have learned a great deal, not only about my education, but regarding my community and peers as well. The university has a very diverse student body, and they offer an immense variety of activities and organizations outside of the classroom. The ensure their students can succeed as long as they are willing to put effort into their education. Professors are generally very approachable and knowledgeable. The student body seems mostly very welcoming and friendly. The facilities are excellent, including dining areas, fitness center, library, book store... Generally just a very great university!

Valparaiso University is a great school. The professors and staff are wonderful and welcoming. It's small, but it feels safe. Everyone is so kind there. There's so many opportunities to get involved on campus. There are always clubs or other activities going on that are fun to go to. I'm lucky to have such a great school.
