Valparaiso University Top Questions

What's the most frustrating thing about your school?

Dawn

I honestly had such a wonderful experience at Valparaiso. Their professors, advisors, and deans were all so involved and caring! If I had to really search for something frustrating it would be the cost to attend. The fact that it is a private school makes it very expensive but I felt it was so worth it with the type of education you were receiving.

There are not very many things at my school that are frustrating but there is one that sticks out in my mind. That one thing is the fact that we pay a very large amount of money to go to this school and yet the school cannot remodel dorms and other on campus buildings to make them nicer for the students that use them.

Taylor

Personally, I came into this school knowing it was of a Lutheran background so I assumed it had strong Christian values. There are people who do, but generally, I feel it does not. It frustrates me having Christian professors who teach improper doctorine and it frustrates me that we are a dry campus but barely enforce people who drink and smoke on campus.

I think the most frustrating thing about my school is sometimes I have to take a lab that goes through my practice time. It can sometimes be hard to schedule my classes and labs at a time that makes it able for me to go to all my practices.

Matthew

The most frustrating thing about my school is how expensive the food is.

Ian

The dining hall food! The cold, snowy winters.

Katie

That all of the freshmen feel that they need to rush into greek life, we really have good independent-greek life interactions and a good mix, you really don't need to rush to meet people.

Carl

Dumb stuff

Amanda

The most frustrating aspect at Valparaiso University is the lack of financial aid they give out and tuition seems to increase every year.

Megan

There is always a new construction project at Valparaiso University. It is frustrating because I know the campuse is beautiful, but all of the dirt and equipment clutter the open spaces and obstruct parking. It is a good thing that the school wants to move forward with improvements, but it is too bad that I cannot see the finished product while attending school. I want to go back and visit in the future so I can see what changes have been made.

Matt

The most frustrating thing about my school is the hard work load that comes along with my major. Very often I find myself dstudying much more than I should
