Most popular if you aren't 21, if you are you go to the bars, is going to frat parties off campus. People will drink in their dorms, but mostly that's freshman year. As you go through college and meet more people, you get to know more places to go and people's houses to go to. Once basketball season rolls around, we go crazy. I've never seen a group of young college people sit around and watch a whole game, even girls. It's so fun though and a great social experience. People party a good amount, I think it all depends on the people . Some people don't even drink, then again there's some people who will go out 4-6 times a week. Thursday night are really big and usually there's a ticket party people go to sponsored by frats where they bus a couple hundred people into bars/clubs in philly and then bus them back at the end of the night.

fraternities are necessary for guys who like to party and have fun, basketball games are always fun nova fest weekend and homecoming are the best weekends of the year. other good holidays are halloween and st patrick's day. my club tennis team plays away matches and has lots of fun while also being very competitive. club sports recommended very good balance of fun and competition

The basketball team walk around campus like gods. It's kind of sickening actually. They are all like 7 feet tall and very intimidating looking and are known to be very dumb. They all major in communications or geography. The varsity sports teams never get out of jerseys it seems. There is no theater program practically. I say that because I have never even seen a play advertised, or heard about the theater department at Villanova. Novafest happens in the spring and is the best thing ever. Villanova is so strict about their alcohol and drug punishments but one day out of the whole year they let you run wild and drink openly and play beer pong in front of public safety and its absolutely awesome. Most people love to drink, drinking is about the only thing to do at Villanova. Don't even think about smoking weed. You'll probably get caught and the punishment is pretty harsh.

There is always something to do

I didn't do much on campus other than some intramural sports and some service trips. Intramural sports were pretty good. I was involved in Soccer (all seasons) and basketball. I liked the service trip opportunities by the dynamic of people on the trip is varied. Depending on your group and the time of year, you get the people that really want to be on the trip and/or the people who do it because it's a resume builder or it's what everyone is doing. For the most part they are very good. I went on two and lead one after I graduated. I met my closest friends freshman year. They all lived on my floor or close to it. I spent the majority of my time freshman year drinking and hanging out with my friends. I could normally finish my work soon after dinner and drink beers with my friends and watch sports and play drinking games - it didn't matter what night of the week. Sophomore year was similar but it was more difficult to get the work done. Junior year people began to turn 21 and the work was also difficult. The social scene was mixed that year. Senior year the bars got old fast and I liked hanging out with my friends at apartments and houses. I could see just my friends (not people I don't want to see) and it was cheaper. We would normally hit the bars late night if at all.

Nothing can be done that doesn't involve drinking. I would talk about "campus life" but that implies there is some life to speak of. If you're not drinking or patricipating in some derviation thereof, your sleeping. Basketball games are awesome though. If you like to party, you can always find something to do.

Getting involved on campus is extremely difficult. Everyone at Villanova is highly ambitious and enjoys volunteer work/clubs/activities. Many clubs or volunteer positions are hard to get because there are so many people interviewing or applying for the spot. Some popular clubs include Blue Key (Campus tours), VUCAT (Villanova Campus Activites Team), Balloon Day (Charity Carnival) and Habitat for Humanity.

Villanova students are constantly out and about on any given night of the week. On the weekends you will mostly find students hanging out in the dorms or hitting the bars on the Mainline. On the weekends, students at Villanova do drink, often times, a lot. But you will find that at just about any college. With that being said, there are several people I know at Villanova who chose not to drink, and still come out to the bars, or hang out and have just as much fun. There is something for everyone. Freshman year students often leave their doors open in the dorms, but once you move into the Quad as a sophomore, people tend to just hang out with their group of friends and not really leave doors open as much anymore. Freshman year is definitely the time when people meet their closest friends, especially because RA's do a great job of planning bonding activities and events for their residents. Greek life is a big part of Villanova's campus, but it is not everything. Mostly you will just see people walking around campus with their Greek letters on or hear about a ticket party one of the Frats are having, but other than that, Greek life definitely does not rule the social scene at Villanova. The are two things that students most look forward to every year at Villanova: Basketball season, and NovaFest. Basketball season is one of the greatest times to be at Villanova, especially when the team is doing well. Everyone comes out on game days to support the team, and win or lose, the student body is made up of die-hard fans. In addition to basketball, NovaFest is an event that happens every spring once the weather gets nice. NovaFest is one of the best weekends to be at school because everyone is outside all day, and there are tons of events on campus from outdoor concerts to free food. During NovaFest, the University also hosts a concert. Bands who have come in the past include: Goo Goo Dolls, Third Eye Blind, OAR, The Roots, Guster and many more.
