Why did you decide to go to this school?

My dad started taking me up for football games when I was about twelve, and I just fell in love with it. I adored the campus, the games, the school spirit - I knew it was where I belonged. I loved the idea of being at a large school in a small town, especially a small town in the mountains with so many outdoorsy things to do. I applied to several other schools, but Tech was the first campus I'd ever visited, so nothing really compared.

My best friend's older brother went to Virginia Tech. I remember driving up to see my first football game with them both, and the magnificent display of Hokie spirit as the stadium literally shook. The next day we took a tour, and I was amazed at the sheer size and beauty of the campus, its buildings and the women populating them. Luckily I did very well in high school, and just one year later my friend and I were both accepted to Tech under early-admission.
