I wish that I had known that the most important skill for a college student to have is the skill of time management. When you first come to school and everything is going on around you so fast it's easy to get caught up in too much fun. However, if you have good time management skills you are in control of what you do and when you get it done. If you don't have very good time management skills now, that's ok, you will very soon.

I wish i had known that VA tech was in such a rural area as I enjoy the city. I also wish i had known what I was going to major in seeing as I changed to International Relations and Tech does not offer a good program for their IS department.

How windy it was going to be.

I wish I had known before coming here, as I would have wished for any other school probably, how intense the work load was going to be compared to high school. If I had known how intense and how many hours I would have to put in for this work, I would have tried to prepare myself a little more in high school.

That college is different from high school and i need to work my ass off to get the same grades i recieved in high schoool.

I wish I had known that I needed to apply for scholarships so early in the year, even before I decided to go to Virginia Tech. Right now I am struggling to try to pay for my college tuition and I am unsure what I should do. I wish that Virginia Tech gave out more grants and scholarships to out of state students.

There's so much going on and the campus has such a fun feeling that I sometimes forgot why I was really there. With my grades slipping based on my own disorganization, I wish I had bothered to go to the seminars Tech offers for new students. They teach how to adjust to college life and how to balance social life and school work. I would have gotten a lot more of out my first year there if I had known how helpful those seminars could be.
