I love my HBCU. I came to Virginia Union University at 19 and I’m 25 now. This school was one of many I applied to and I was well accompanied from check-in up to now. I love the band here. My favorite thing about being at VUU was waking up to hearing the band practice outside my window. Morning, Noon & NIGHT.
A good college
VUU, is a school of great culture. From the band, the sports events to the great events on homecoming weekend! Here we love to see each win, so classmate stick together. Before the world shutdown being on campus, going from class to class was something i looked forward to everyday! I love my HBCU i believe being here is certainly preparing the students for the real world!
Virginia Union University is a small school and i praise the school because of it's ability to insure students build a connection with their professors. The only con i have about Union is the expenses of attendance, its way too much to be such a small school and have the dorms not fully functional.
The fall 2020 acceptance rate for Virginia Union University is 40%. That means, out of _____ applications received in 2020 , _____ students were offered admission. The number of males who applied was _____ vs the number of females which was _____.
If i could go back in time and talk to myself as a high school senior, I would tell myself do the research on the school that I plan on attending. Find out if they have activities you want to participate in. See do they offer your major. Go visit the school before you make any decisions and know they school history. It's not like high school, there's things that you will experience that will change your life completely. Get to know your surrounding because your parents can't get to you as fast being almost two hours away. College will test your strengths and abilities. You will encounter alot of different people from all over. The last thing I would say is watch who you can trust and be active at the school. You meet new people and break you out of being shy. It will help keep you busy because it's what you make of it.
I wish I'd known that I'd have to attend chapel. I'm not religious but you're required to go to chapel a certain amount of times before you graduate.
i like to tell them how i enjoy my experience in learning different things everyday, and being introduced to something new out of the ordinary. i also tell them about the classes and teachers, and the way they make the lesson so clear to the class. i like that the classes arent packed with extra students and you get the attention you need.
Virginia Union is very unique because it is a small campus, in which we have more one on one with are teachers.
teachrs not showing up on time
My classmates are mosly from the commonwealth area, they have money and I dont.

It has also been home to the Famous Belgium Building which was a huge attraction as an exhibit at the World's Fair in New York
The best thing about attending Virginia Union is the friendly environment. We have chapel every Thursday, which you would wan to attend to recieve your USE credits, but chapel is something good to experience. Also, Virginia Union campus has the best professors, and its a real warm environment. Everyone is like a big family. It offers alot of extra help, they have a writing center and they offer best tutors ever!
The most frustrating thing about my school is that if we wanted to go somewhere, we couldn't have no transportation to come to the school and take us to certain places like the mall, out to different restaurants, and things like that. We had to use our transportation or just walk there. One of the most frustrating things about my school is that we always have such nasty bathrooms, not flushing the toilet, and mostly not washing hands. In the fire alarms, it takes long as the fire marshal to come in and turn the alarm.
vuu is a school of exellence that offers a brighter future for kids that want to be successful.
the kind of person that has the drive to do well should attend this school. the type of person that is willing to take the extra step in bettering themselves, and their future. the kind of person that is willing to open up to making strangers take parts in their lives and making them family should want to attend this school.
Since this campus and the classroom size is very small, if someone wants to be in a large classroom they will not like this school. Also if you are in school for partying, this is not the school for you. If you don't enjoy the family type environment this is not the school for you. Lastly, if you are very open and can't keep your personal business to yourself this is not the school for you.
