I love that VWU is a smaller school with smaller classes . I am new to the college but I am coming on as a baseball player . . I am excited to get started . I won’t be staying on campus the first year but when I visited the campus it looked as if everyone was one big family . Everyone I have talked to about the college loves it .I am sure I will too .
My honest opinion of Virginia Wesleyan is that it is a good school that has potential, but the care of the students whether it be food or housing need to be a necessity. Sometimes athletes can not eat because the cafe and grill are closed because of their practice times. The cafe food is inedible sometimes and that is not acceptable. Some of the freshman dorm bathrooms have mold under the sink or the sink does not work. The school's ability to find internships for their students is a major plus. Professors are very personable and are almost always available to answer any of your questions. Everyone is very friendly and looks out for one another. It is a good school.
Virginia Wesleyan is definitely my top choice, and I'd even go as far as to call it my dream school. For me, it's the perfect size. I love that the classes are small, and I feel that we have a very close community because of it. We have a diverse student body, which is also one of the reasons I came here. I also love the liberal arts aspect, and we are very strong academically.

David Brinkley once said, "a successful man is one who can lay a firm foundation with the bricks others have thrown at him. " The tools that the professors at Virginia Wesleyan College provide to you will ease all of the fears that you have about college. Everything that you have endured through high school has prepared you for success in college. If you ever have any problems in a class, do not hesitate to talk to your professors. They are here to help you succeed and I have not met a single professor on campus that will turn a student away. Most importantly, college is meant to be full of learning along with fun. Do not be afraid to express yourself and make friends. Everyone here is very accepting.
The school does not accomidate to commuters very well.
Even though this is a small school, there is a huge sense of community on campus. It starts during freshman orientation when you are split into groups and told to paint a chair. This chair stays on campus all four years you are here. It is always nice to go around and try to find the chair you painted and study in it. Working together to work on projects and then seeing them around really builds a sense of community.
A small liberal arts college based in Norfolk that offers a wide variety of classes for any major. The mandatory liberal arts classes helps to expand a student's mind so he/she can really focus on what they want to do for the rest of their life. VWC also has a great athletics department and Greek Life.
My school is known for its size. It is a very small school so not many people know about it. It also has great athletics. A lot of different sports teams have made it pretty far in their division, including our softball team being ODAC champions.
Friendly, outgoing, helpful, caring, hardworking, goal-oriented
preppy, outgoing, athlete
Small class sizes, opportunity to make a difference, and attentive and focused professors.
The most frustrating thing about my school is the food in the cafe. Very disgusting!
I think the best thing about my school is that it is small, and it allows us students to get that one on one help from the professors. Since there are not that many students, teachers actually take their time to read and fix mistakes we make. I find it very beneficial when professors take the time to help students when they make mistakes.
That the school doesn't hold that many events for students to do on campus.
Whoever wants a small school where you are not a number but a name.
Virginia Wesleyanis a very active academic school. I believe how closely they are with the students makes them more academic worthy.
Virginia Wesleyan is an absolutely amazing school! I have met wonderful people and the professors genuinely care for each student. Virginia Wesleyan is not just a college, it is my home.
