I love Washburn! The academic advisors and professors are easy to contact and very helpful in answering any questions that I have. The professors are willing to work with me if I need to miss class for a track meet, which helps relieve stress and puts me at ease. The Washburn Track and Field team has proven to be a great opportunity for me because I not only get to run, but I have been able to meet lots of new people who are now my teammates. My coaches really care about my success on and off the track, which helps to keep me motivated and focused on achieving my goals of graduating with a degree in Business and representing Washburn well at track meets.

Washburn University is a relatively small and condensed campus. It's perfect for those that are easily overwhelmed by large changes because of this. All the buildings are within walking distance of each other, making it easy to plan out your classes. Overall, the professors have high standards but are always there to help. There's a wonderful tutoring center in the Mabee Library for writing papers, and extremely helpful math tutors in Morgan Hall. I'm a Computer Science major, but I started out as a Physics major. The Physics department is small, but has quite a few very talented and intelligent professors work with the students there. The Computer Science division is similarly filled with very smart and helpful people. The professors here expect a lot from you, but if they can see you're legitimately trying they can be lenient. Wholly, this college is very good for people anxious about the transition or just wanting a smaller start.

It is a small university that offers great professors that know what they are talking about. Being a small school, the sports aren't very big. However, the opportunity for intramural sports is always available. There are two sets of dorms, one older, but cost effective. The other is two years old and more costly. Washburn offers something for everyone.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

Washburn is a great school for people who really want to focus on their academics or athletics. The party scene is quiet small, most people travel to nearby universities or cities on weekends for that. The buildings are new and look nice outside and in. Professors are readily available to help students and most class sizes are less than 30. The food has not been amazing, but there are plenty of nearby places to eat in Topeka. While the campus is not in the best part of town, the campus itself is quite safe. I have enjoyed my time at Washburn and will be returning next year.

People must understand the benefits of attending this college, as this college is home to myriads of life-changing experiences. Starting my freshman at Washburn Univesity I was lost not only as a student, but as a person. I was not afraid to claim that I was lost though, and every staff member I asked for help was not only excited to work with me, but also elated that I was using some of many resources available to me on campus. I love the involvement, student body, and the staff at this school. GO BODS!

Washburn is a very great school. The class sizes are great! The max amount of students is about 30, so you get real attention from the teachers. Most of the teachers are just an email away. Teachers want the very best for their students and do everything to help. The campus is very beautiful and well kept. There are many opportunities on campus in the ways of clubs and activities so people can get involved. I would encourage anyone to come to Washburn if you want one of the best college experience.

I enjoy being a student at Washburn. Class sizes are small, usually a ratio of about 14:1. Everyone is always really polite and are always willing to lend a hand. Also, Washburn is immensely diverse; not only in the sense that we come from different parts of the world, but also that we have completely different backgrounds, cultures, or just how we go about our daily lives.

What is your overall opinion of this school?

Washburn University has it's open sides and down sides. The location is not all the fancy and it not a very well known school. But the class sizes are great, makes it easier to get on a good terms with the professors. People are also super nice and outgoing, so it is easy to make friends! Overall i have made my best friends here but my education wise it's 50/100 the WU101 class was easy for some people and hard for others, the class was different depending on certain professors, some cared too much and others cared not enough. It was also difficult to keep up with that class because you're are required to go to events and have photo proof. I work full time and just simple did not have the time and that really hurt my grade, i think if that class was reviewed better and not a required class to graduate it would of been better and i could have worked more towards my degree than towards my schools requirements. Most of my professors were great, it just simply depends what teacher you get.

I truly love Washburn and had a connection to it from the moment I first stepped onto campus. This school feels like an extended family to me. The administration is friendly, considerate, and generally warm. The professors are always willing to help their students out and in if the student is struggling they are willing to meet with them outside of their normal office hours. The campus has numerous programs, clubs, activities, and volunteer options. This school is not only dedicated to its students but is also extremely dedicated to its community. Not for ourselves alone, is our school motto and I believe that Washburn truly exemplifies this in every aspect. I truly recommend anyone who wishes for smaller classroom sizes, who wants to learn who their professor is, who wants their professor to learn who they are, and who wants the most from their college experience to come to Washburn and be an Ichabod.
