Tiny is mighty! I cannot stress this enough when talking about this place. Students I've talked to who are applying to colleges take one look at my school and laugh it off. Yeah, it's small (about 1400 students right now) and it's in a small town (okay, so I accidentally walked out of Chestertown one time...) but that does not mean it doesn't have a lot to offer. Honestly, I don't know what I thought of Washington College the summer before coming here because I was terrified of the fact that I was actually continuing my education (applications are intimidating!) All I knew was that I was ready to go. I already had the clubs I wanted to join picked out and had chosen a color scheme for my room. When I got here, I realized there was SO much more to do. And Chestertown? Well, let's just say it's constantly trying to overcompensate for it's small size. It actually reminds me of Stars Hallow from "Gilmore Girls."

The best thing about this school is that the faculty actually cares about its students, we are not just a number in a crowd. The school is small, but not too small. You get to know new people, and still find new connections on a daily basis. It is perfect to get around to different buildings without a hassle and the school spirit is great. People's reaction to this school is usually a positive one, and they like to visit because of the great view of the Chester River. The most complaints is that the school is in a very small quaint town, so there are not that many restaurants or activities within the city.
