Waynesburg University is like a tight family. Walking through campus, there is always someone that you know. I love the small community that we having making it easy to connect with others and be involved in the things we love. I would say that the professors truly care about what they are teaching, and they are invested in our careers in the future.

Brendan - 02/23/2022

The class sizes are small, and the professors and students are nice. The weather is really hot and humid in the summer and the dorms have no air conditioning. In the winter it is always bitter cold and snowy and there is nothing to do outside of Waynesburg. It is kind of hard to stay motivated at times with the brutal winters and lack of things to do. Another downside is that the food is terrible and the meal plans are overpriced. I resorted to buying my own groceries which I did not plan on when I enrolled at Waynesburg. At least there are some decent grocery stores in Waynesburg. If you're looking for a small college in a small town, Waynesburg may be a good choice but otherwise I would not recommend.

Holly

I love the smaller campus, as it is easy to go from class to class. Class size is perfect and allows for one-on-one help from professors. People and staff are nice. Professors are very professional. The food gets boring after a while, but there are nice places to eat in town.

Shy

It's small and quaint, and a good place to learn while meeting almost everyone. The academic programs are superb. Professors are always available and eager to help in any way. The food is terrible, but the education I receive makes up for it. I also like the Christian aspect of the campus. It's a dry campus, but there are plenty of opportunities to go out. It's overall a good place, and I like it.

  2. What should every freshman at your school know before they start?

The most important piece of advice for helping myself to make the transition from high school to college would definitely be to learn a way to efficiently manage my time. Adjusting to a college schedule is a significant change from the way a high school schedule is designed. The breaks between classes in college can sometimes be several hours, and those several hours could be used to get ahead on a reading assignment in a class or to review material for an exam in the class that is coming up later that day. I certainly did not always use my time as effectively as I could have during college, but I got by and did very well regardless. For others, inefficiently managing time could make a crucial difference in their performance. Along with efficiently managing time for academics, I would advise that time must also be made to just enjoy the experience of college. I worked two part-time jobs during college and was a commuter, and I always found myself rushing home after classes to go directly to work or get something else done. My job was beneficial to me, but I wish I had experienced more on campus.

Waynesburg University offers students an amazing community to study in. Everyone on campus is like a family. A lot of people on campus share in my faith and it's really been a blessing to attend Waynesburg. I've grown in ways that I've never expected. The only downfalls to the school are the price, the underclassmen dorms, and the food. The tuition is very high for the education received. The underclassmen dorms are very small and hot all year long. The food is practically the same everyday, not great, and pricey.
